RallyX - third brake light needed?

Hi everyone

Can someone clear this up for me? I've got a stockhatch (a Metro similar to Si Horton's) and I'm trying to get it prepped for RSS Anglesey 9th April.

I haven't got the bluebook yet and I'm trying to clear something up. Do I need a third brake light on my car? I've got two already (set high up in the back windscreen).

If yes, would you be kind enough to tell me the dimensions needed and whether it's to be wired into the braking circuit or is it a 'fog'/Hi Visi light only.

Many thanks

The Savaloy

Third light is a fog/ hi vis light that must run a on a switch which the driver can reach. Don't think there is any particular spec for lamp.??

No don't think there is a special size they have to be. They have to be mounted in the middle of the car I think so they can't be confused with the brake lights but thats it. Don't get asked to use them often, but at Pembrey last year they were rather usful!

Hows the build going? Got any pics of your car?

Thanks for all your help guys. I'll get that light sorted out shortly.

The new car is finished. I'd like to post a picture of the car but I'm not sure I know how to limit the size of the picture so not going to try unless someone can advise?

The Anglesey Grass Track club held 3 meetings over the Xmas and New Year period; 'races for cars' - we got 4 (5 in the case of the last two meets) x 5 lap races and 2 lots of practice for £65 which was excellent value.

As it's my nearest circuit I used them to shake the car down and get some useful experience of actually racing other cars.

The picture above was a result of me trying some left foot braking.....practice makes perfect and all that!

They are doing the three races again this year I'm given to understand.
