kingfloopy should be qualifying in the top 10 on the grid
Mexico City

Well it's time again for NASCAR's Busch Series to return to Mexico City and a road course. Last year the race was won by Martin Truex. The pole sitter was Mexican driver Jorge Goeters. Boris Said and Adrian Fernandez are also entered. Personally I'd like to see either Said or Fernandez (my favorite (former) IndyCar driver) win the race, but the road courses are kind of up in the air.

I would like to see Boris win the race. He is a good guy and the win would help his career in Nascar.

Why does NASCAR schedule these road races when a quarter of the teams will sub out the rides to non-series drivers who have road racing experience.

And what is the deal with NASCAR and all the full coarse yellows. Most of the cautions could have been done with a localize yellow instead of stopping the entire race and bunching the cars back up. It really made the race about as exciting as watching the last 30 seconds of an NBA game get drawn out to 15 minutes of free throw shooting.

I was really looking forward to this race, but the constant yellows really killed it.
The race never was able to get into any kind of rythm. A few local yellows would have been better. I actually dozed off at one point.
Good drive from Denny Hamlin and Boris Said. Credit must be given to Kyle Busch as well, though I do think that somebody needs to teach him that 'patience is a virtue'.

Agree with all that enemy-ace, yellows for petty things are ok on Ovals (safety first) but on a road course they could have easily been cleaned up under local yellow, with no safety implications.

Unlucky for Jourdain and Tracy, both where looking pretty good, but congrats to Hamlin, how many Road courses has he ever raced?

I think this was only Hamlins third road course start. He's a pretty impressive and I think he has the potential to become the next big star and probably rookie of the year. The cautions were kind of annoying. The only one that probably needed the entire field to go under yellow was the Waltrip crash. I think he ended up sitting in the middle of track, so it'd probably be a good idea to slow the entire field down. The reason they may have had whole field cautions is a lot of the drivers are relatively inexperienced on road courses and may have not entirely understood what to do under a local caution versus a whole field caution.

I thought the race was excellent, however I'm a sucker for a road course anyway. It's too bad Rusty wasn't still kicking around the track he would of shown those hooligans!!

We must remember that Nascar is basically an oval racing series and there is no such thing as a local caution on the ovals. Hopefullym they will start utilizing more local cautions on the road courses. Hamlin was impressive. Someone, sometime, is going to put Busch in the wall. He displays no patience and needs taught a lesson the hard way, evidently. Boris can really drive the road tracks. He was hell-on-wheels in Trans Am. I know, we raced against him.

Makes sense then I suppose.

First time I've properly watched a NASCAR road course race, Enjoyed it, better than a V8 Supercar race IMO, if it had been there would have been penalties everywhere for cars touching each other...

Does Boris ever take to the ovals?

Boris Said has done several oval races over the last couple of years, including seven in 2005 (with a best finish of fourth in the Pepsi "Firecracker" 400 at Daytona in July).

He also did two full seasons in the Craftsman Truck Series between 1997 and 1998.

So, yeah, Said has given the ovals a try

Ah, never knew that, thought he was just a road course specialist, cheers.

I think that's the key. Some of these guys only do a couple of road course races each year, so it probably makes more sense to NASCAR to slow the entire field down rather than risk a few drivers not seeing the yellow flags for a local caution and causing all kinds of problems.

I enjoyed the Mexico race, the cars look like 4 wheeled barges but it's certainly a spectacle watching them hammer it flat out through the first few turns all bunched up.

I thought it was an excellent race. Shame Kyle Busch was an idiot and took Jourdain out. I can't wait for the Nextel Cup to race at Mexico City.
