The Race - The Last of the Year

Very nearly crunch time, and in the UK at least the coverage has started! May I again suggest that during-race comments are made in the chat (click here, here or even here to join in) - instant reactions, and I shall preserve comments for eternity and post them here - unless you say something you want me to ignore!

Schumacher - extra pit stop for broken Front wing after being cut up by Sato in the Chicane (although Michael was quite a long way back)

Alonso lost his engine too - that means that Kimi is 3rd (with Teamate in 2nd), and Mikey is 11th (with Teammate leading!)
Don't need the rain, do we?

Michael came from a very long way back- he was never going to get past unless Sato ran wide to let him- definite mistake by MS.....

<Asp{uni}> and Mac ready for DC
<avsfan733> yup
<avsfan733> mclaren out also!
<avsfan733> jordan in also

<Asp{uni}> with that, definitely
<sleepachu> yeh
<avsfan733> no prob
<Asp{uni}> 7sec stop, good one
<avsfan733> kr into second for now
* sleepachu scans his keyboard for his rubens button
<avsfan733> lol

<Asp{uni}> it's getting windier
<avsfan733> trulli in fourth from last row!
<sleepachu> good
<Dani_Filth> your not gonna find it sleepachu
<avsfan733> an kr has to pit
* sleepachu is probably going to fall a sleep soon
<Asp{uni}> 9.809 - gap going in the wrong direction
<Asp{uni}> Kimi & Rubens have to make 1 more stop each - possibly
<sleepachu> rubens got 2 done already
<Asp{uni}> I reckon that KR is on a 2 stopper
<Asp{uni}> Kimi losing a second a lap :-(
<Dani_Filth> not to much
<Dani_Filth> come on rain already
<Ralf> it's coming.....
<Ralf> timing's now working
<Asp{uni}> I notice :-D
<sleepachu> bah
<Dani_Filth> we all noticed
<sleepachu> panis let him by
<avsfan733> michael into 11
<Dani_Filth> BAR seems to do an excelent race ... if honda doesnt blow they could get 5th
<avsfan733> they were 1-2 for a few laps
<Asp{uni}> See where they come out here
<Asp{uni}> and what they fuel it with - they technically could fuel it to the finish
<sleepachu> trulli in
<avsfan733> in a couple laps maybe
<Asp{uni}> those 2 were fueled to finish
<sleepachu> and sato
<Dani_Filth> don't think is a good ideea ...
<sleepachu> yup
<Dani_Filth> if it rains they are

Shoe-maker should be qualifying in the top 10 on the grid
It was a weird race. Even though Michael was in the wars, I never really got the feeling that he wouldn't get the point and when McLaren did a different strategy for Raikkonen, I never felt that he would be able to win the race. Most people said that Michael's sixth title was a formality (I was slightly pessimistic) and they were probably correct.
