Really impressive! But I wonder if Toyota is not just going to turn up something and go quicker?

I wonder what Lotterer or Jani could have done with that car?

Hopefully we'll get a Rebellion on the front row!

I'm loving this Hyperpole so far – perhaps the only tweak in a non-Covid world would be to move it to the early evening? I think that was the original plan anyway.

That Menezes lap was insane, he's 1.5s quicker than the sister car

Booo, Menezes out the car – shame he didn't get another shot but I guess Rebellion know there's no way of finding half a second without too much risk

Noooooo! That was the lap, surely! Track limits violation at Tertre Rouge and by my calculations it would have been a 3:14.6-ish if he had matched his best final sector.

Where does S2 begin? Is it after Tertre Rouge? Otherwise the S2 time is obviously not reliable.

That'll be why then, he was like 7 tenths up on the #8 car's best sector time.

He was .9 up by the end of Sector 2. If he could have found .4 in the last sector, he would have been in the 13's.....

Qualifs format

In my opinion, a qualification session would be better on Wednesday evening, divided in two periods of one hour. One hour with all GT, on hour with all Prototypes.
If this Hyperpole will be organized of Thursday in the future, the delay till the race should be too short for any team in case of crash.

Can someone explain to me why the #17 & #28 IDEC cars are shown as 28th and 29th after the final qualifying when they didn't set a time. Shouldn't they be 58th and 59th ?

Qualifying line up done by class. It's why Risi is not behind GTE-Am as well.

It's usually segregated by class - you wouldn't want them to be behind the GT cars at the start - it would be absolute carnage.

Apologies if it's been mentioned elsewhere - what was the score with the Risi entry and no laps showing for qualy?

I read something about the car being worked on during parc ferme?

They and AF Corse jacked up their cars while subject to parc ferme - all times deleted.

For most of the past decade, there have been cases of LMP1 cars starting behind LMP2 and GTE Pro starting behind GTE Am.

Last year, the #88 GTE Am Dempsey Proton Porsche started ahead of the #89 GTE Pro Risi Ferrari:
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/2019_24_Hours_of_Le_Mans

2018, the #5 LMP1 Ginetta was down amongst the LMP2's:

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/2018_24_Hours_of_Le_Mans

2015, the LMP1 Nissans were sent to the back of the LMP2 grid for failing to qualify within the 110% cut-off.

The IDEC cars ARE shown at the rear of the LMP field, as the previous entries by you were as well but for penalty.

Now that qually is split into regular qually and Hyperpole the classes have to be split on the grid.

If Hyperpole had been run in the rain all the Hyperpole cars would have lined up behind the others according to lap times, which wouldn't make much sense.

This is my only real issue with Hyperpole. Otherwise I thought it was quite exciting.
