drbob should be qualifying in the top 10 on the grid
Thanks E.B. I’m just home. I have lots of stories to tell and photos and videos but unfortunately I will have to leave it for a day or two before posting. Real life intervenes.

ok some more pics to make Iain jealous and make sure he has it on his planner for next year, all things allowing.

First of all I snapped this possum on the bridge across the track early on day 1.... he would not be impressed once the "Gentleman you can now start your engines" at 9am.

After that a bit of what I saw....

including the Genoa Racing Ralt RT2 Sports car conversion and the ex Rosberg Budweiser Spyder. Oh and the ex Shelby Allard. (owned by the same guy who owns the Corvette posted above)

To save uploading hundreds of pics from the weekend here I have uploaded them all to an album online:

Album link: https://ibb.co/album/7Ntt5t

Hopefully that link should work, but if anyone has any problems please post here and I will sort something else. Enjoy.

Awaits baubles comments about my lack of ability etc. so apologies in advance.... I am no bauble-esque shutter king.

Working link, thanks. Nice Capris and again the now famous Traction. The A110 could be an ex-works, Groupe 4 compétition client, with the relocated fuel trap. i remember you sent me a lot of info about those in Aus.

Great photos, Chris. I am puzzling over the Budweiser sports-racer (car no.3) that has a central driving position. It has Keke sign written, but i cannot recall Rosberg driving that car. And unless I missed them, no Anglias or Mk1 Escorts.

Re the Budweiser Sports Racer, it is a Spyder (I believe converted from a Lola T332 at the time when many F5000 cars were reinvented as Can Am cars) and driven a number of times in 1979 by Keke. (It was also driven once that year by Depailler.) I love that car. (no doubt obvious from the photos in the album online!)

If you scroll down this list of Keke's races entered to 1979 you will see it features frequently
https://www.racingsportscars.com/dri...sberg-FIN.html
Chatting to the current owner he was telling me he was invited and took the car to Monterey Historics at Laguna Seca for Keke to be reunited with the car for a drive. Cannot remember the year he did that

Sadly no Anglias present.... although dr.bob and I did discuss them at one point. Escorts also surprisingly as there are usually a number of them running at this meeting. There was one I saw competing but perhaps only in regularity..

OK, le point Ã* mi-course. So Dave thanks a lot for your vacation pics. To make things clear, you met a new fiancée, her name is Possum, we dont know why she's sleeping in a cage, and you had an appointment with the doctor. First question: what color the baby? First name will be?

OK it seems with the dramas online with tenths we have lost a post or two, one of which was my answer to GerryMo re an odd push button device pic # 3339 of my album of PI pics I linked.
(That link to the off site album, in case it is now missing, is https://ibb.co/album/7Ntt5t )

Anyway back to GerryMo's question yes it is a push-button gear selector as fitted to the locally produced (Chrysler) Valiant R series in the early 1960s.

Powered by a slant six 225 cube engine slant-six was tilted by 30 degrees for a low bonnet line and gave an impressive for the time 145bhp. Another quirk was the water pump was cast on the side... it saved four inches in length, which translated into a larger passenger compartment.

The gear selection was a three speed push button affair, with buttons for Neutral,/ 1/2/3(drive) and reverse. Quite a futuristic car at the time this particular one competes in our Group Nb (pre'65) category

Piccies in question:

Edit it seems I am unable to upload the photos as normal atm, but to see the car in question the shot of the car and the gear selector buttons are images #3398 and 3399 in the album linked earlier in this post

That possum was there last year, probably the same spot!!

Thanks for the piccies, I'll be there in 2022!

Edit! Geeze, it was quiet in the pits! There must have been a very different atmosphere this year, with the limit on numbers.

Merci pour les précisions, "Dave", the auto gearbox from Chrysler was adopted by some cars, like Facel Vega Excellence for instance (Jensen Interceptor too may be?).

Question subsidiaire, who feeds the possum and what is her name?

Race 3 of the weekend for Historic Touring Cars. Group N from the Falcon Sprint of my good friend Jervis Ward. Jervis' comments...."That little oil leak we'd put up with all weekend turned out to be a little nastier than we thought. And it would appear we've blown a head gasket. On every left hand corner there was smoke coming out the back and onto the back tyre making for some hairy moments. Also 3rd gear was being a *****."

From the same Rallye Sprint, the Sunday morning 5 lap race. Unfortunately David Crabtree in the Capri just didn't want to give up his position to Jervis...until he ran out of road. Unfortunately that and another incident bought out the Safety Car, after a couple of laps and stayed out to the finish.

Great vids, thanks!
If Jervis is more than fifty and thick skin style, drop dead the advice, just drink a beer with your friend!

You are right about futuristic......I remember our local Vauxhall dealer used to have one of these in the showroom and in my early teens I can remember pressing my nose up against the window thinking how fantastic it was compared to the workaday Vauxhalls

Apologies for the delay in posting. A few photos, mostly tin tops. My 2 cars are in the first photo. A 1983 spec group C Mazda RX7 with Bathurst 1000 starts in 1980- 1983 and a Group C Torana A9X in 1979 spec which raced ATCC 1974-1979 including the Bathurst 1000 in 1977.
E.B yes my RX7 was placed in the incorrect class. It is a 13B with a capacity of 2600 cc (some say 1306 or 1308 per rotor.) A multipling factor is then applied which puts it in an over 3 litre class. I was placed in the under 3l. class.
I had a terrible weekend with the RX7. After having rebuilt it and an apparently good dynotune prior to the meeting I had a misfire as soon as it went on the track. We changed everything and for the last race it seemed to run OK. We are still not sure what the problem was. In race 3 on the Sunday the muffler caught on fire! courtesy of a large amount of fuel filling the carburettor and then accumulating in the muffler.
