Chigley should be qualifying in the top 10 on the grid
I think two drivers qualify for Bath Chairs as they are obviously to past it to handle a Zimmerframe. I'm not sure what tyres they would use??

For goodness sake Sheila
Percy was the internationally renowned (well near Swanley he was)purveyor of bags of roasted peanuts from a mobile stall.
For many years this was the only food available at Brands and therefore such as G.Hill, S.Moss, C.Chapman, Ivor Bueb,Doc Shepherd, Archie Scott Brown and many more, were sustained by Percy's delectable nuts (no cheap jokes please!).
His involvement with motor sport was, that had he not been there, the above and a few thousand spectators would have starved to death.
By the way have we met?
John

Sorry Bob, wasn't intending it to be a competition, just rekindled many happy hours standing by the picket fence.

Somewhere in the pile of rubbish I call my heirlooms there is a picture of Brands being used whilst still a grass track circuit.
If only I could remember where I live!

Anyone who is old enough to know that they were called Bath chairs, should be more circumspect.

How about Snetterton when there was a kind of balconey overlooking the pit road and after Coram was a long left hand curve which then went on up the present start and finish
Speaking of Snetterton I have another photo of me turning into what was then the Esses ( sidecar again)at the end of the straight which is now the market with some poor guy laid on the ground behind me being tended by St Johns Ambulance people. Stop the race? I don't think there was a procedure then.

Percy Daltons also used to supply British Airways until peanuts weren't allowed on planes anymore.

For me, memories are GP's with spectators separated from cars by a bit of rope, spectating from the top of the pits at Silverstone, GP mechanics with tool boxes etc. Facilities at club meetings are bigger than this now!

Ronnie Peterson at Woodcote??

OK, we have visited Mallory, then Crystal Palace, how about these old Snetterton shots? Again warning, patience required as there are lots to load up, unless you have Broadband of course! Enjoy.

Poor old Percy
Must have been body blow to lose the BA contract.
