Andy Metcalf should be qualifying in the top 10 on the grid
2004 dates

Someone told me that there is possiblity of the British Grand Prix moving dates because of the French Grand Prix. Has anyone else heard anything else about this and how it might affect the BTCC non-championship round or the rounds either side of that date?

Apparantly the BARC have put out some info that the British GP will move to the 11th July, the date previously given to the French GP. It's all unofficial at this stage but I've heard it nough times to believe it will be confirmed. The original date (4th July) clashes with the Euro 2004 football final and the Wimbeldon tenis final so obviously the BGP organisers are keen to swap dates.

What that means to BTCC dates is anyone's guess. Obviously the Croft date (11th) will need to change. I'll assume it will be a straight swap with Croft on the 4th. The week before that will be 27th June, which if the provisional F3 calender is to be believed is also the FIA GT/ETCC meeting at Donington. Can't see TOCA wanting to clash with that.

But the British GT and F3 championships are at DP that weekend.

I also don't think the GP support and Croft dates will be a straight swap if the GP does move. They would be more likely to move Croft to a different date altogether, like August 7/8.

Yes, F3 and FIA GT will run at the same meeting at Donington (source: MN).

Still up in the air as Paul Ricard have now offered to stage the French GP (good old Bernie) so as usual the whole UK racing calender is in a shambles until we have a definitive date for the BGP
