10 Sept moved from Oulton to Brands (same day) Shell eco-marathon - Rockingham - now July 6/7 And - my AMOC availability form arrived today as did BRSCC South East. Last week I got BMMC SE newsletter with list of training days, showing Snetterton as 6 Feb. I believe this is wrong and should read 30 Jan. (except Observers which is 26 Feb in Ipswich) |

There's one on the BRSCCNW.COM site, along with a copy of the January Outpost. If December was anything to go by we should be recieving them by snail mail in the next couple of days. Unfortunately no Leinster date at Anglesey this year, I quite enjoyed that meeting.

There will be a LMC meeting at Anglesey - probably in May. The difference this year though is that they are organising the whole caboodle themselves and marshals are being provided by them too. In recent years the JCC have looked after the marshalling aspect. Try as I might - I cannot find a contact name at the LMC, so if you want to marshal for them, I suggest you contact the Irish equivalent of the MSA (Unless EP can shed some light) |

Is there a site with all the Anglessey dates on?, I've seen the BRSCC NW ones and that's about it. I'm down for over 70 days already - Clerking, Racing & Observing but do want to go back to Wales again.

There is an entry for an LMC event at Anglesey on May 21st and 22nd on our provisional 2005 calendar.
I don't know what the process for volunteering for this is, but if the marshals are being provided by MRMCI, then I presume volunteers should contact the Chief Marshal. Email contact is info@mrmci.com For info on any other Irish events, you can also email to the above - or if you prefer, you can drop me a PM and I'll put you in contact with the relevant people directly. |

The Britcar night race at Brands has moved forward a week to November 19th because the "Race Car Live" event will now be on Nov.26th/27th instead of in December.

ASCAR or SCSA as it is this season have thier own teams that are trained on the response vehicles don't they? The marshals are the same each month as far as I know.

very wrong I'm afraid Chezza,
Steve, BARC are the people to volunteer to - the 1st Sunday of each month is raceday, Saturday is the practice day. 1st meeting is 1st May, last meeting 2nd October. The 'Thunder Sunday' meetings (ASCAR-as was, Now SCSA) will need more marshals than ever this season, as all meetings include support races on the infield (international) circuit, with just as many posts to marshal as any club meet. The infield support races this year include Legends, Mini se7ens & miglias, TVR Championship, Formula BMW, Porsches and more TBC, so plenty of infield action. When the SCSA cars are on the oval, marshals are needed for pit crew (one per car to observe the pitstops = about 25-30 marshals required, plus normal pit cover (fire watch, oil clearing, pushing, etc.), plus a few marshals around the oval to assist at the observer points for pointing out debris, and being another pair of eyes for the observer (when the cars & trucks are doing a lap of the 1.5mi oval in about 28-30secs, things happen fast, and the type of observing we do is quite different to 'normal' circuits. In terms of incident handling on the oval, Chezza is correct that the four safety response vehicles deal with everything (3x rescue personnel + a doctor/paramedic on each unit). If you want to have a look at the SCSA cars & Pickup in action at the Rock (and they are awesome to watch & hear), there is an open invitation to the test day on Saturday 23rd April. We would love to get more people there over the season, the circuit is aware of complaints about facilities for marshals and are trying their best to sort it. PM me if anyone wants more info. Alan |
