this was the clincher to sign Tommi from Mitsubishi, he HAS to drive a red car, something to do with fire-engines...

They haven't confirmed they're changing to red though have they? It was Loix who had the Malboro sponsorship anyway, not Tommi. I really hope they stick with the blue/gold, we have too many Malboro cars to look at in other forms of racing already.

The Marlboro money was because of Loix and I've been told it won't be following Makinen to Subaru (nor staying with Mitsubishi)

Well this week's Autosport says that Subaru have annouced a renewed deal with BAT, which will see them running the 555 Branding as they did in the mid-nineties. They managed to mentioned the boss of FIA world rallying, Dave Richards, joining BAR F1 too; in the same article. We the people know that there is of course absolutely no link whatsoever between these two events...

Of course there is no link. It's obviously just a coincidence.

Oh crikey, they can't have the Subaru red, the Lancer's red. Always has been and always should be... it'd be like that Winfield livery the Williams had a few years back, it just wouldn't look or feel right.

[GasMan shudders at the thought.]

The giveaway re; the BAR / Prodrive link will be if the Subaru cars emerge with 555 branding down one side and Lucky Strike on the other
