Its not just the cars, sadly we do not often know when a driver is retiring. Will Gollop has finally sold his focus, so does that make his outing at Essay in 2005 his last meeting? Unlike the speedway world, shame, fans don`t get a chance for a farewell meeting.

Wouldnt it be great if Gollop could have a lap of honour at the Lydden Erc, as last British European Champion with his old bi turbo 6R4, peugeot 306 and focus behind. His saab went to Martin Shepherd? does that still survive, and did the 309 go circuit racing?

The last I heard of it that was the plan - there's a thread somewhere on here where the owner of the 309 was talking about what he was doing with the car (I think it was going to be Honda S2000 powered RWD if memory serves me right).

I know Kevin Furbers is in action, comes close but is nowhere near as quick as Matti's... Also would like to see the manic looking ZX of Hansen in unrestricted 1996 spec, this is like Group B, part 2... Or the white Audi S1 of Olle, Pekka's and Thor's RS200... List could go on and on...

OMG! Look at those ridicilous wide rear wheels! Otherwise this would be a monster of a car to have on the road (there are road legal 6R4's, so why not make it look (& go!) like this)...

If the lottery ever falls in my favour the 205T16E2 is highest on the list... But of the standard Group B versions the RS200 and 6R4's looks best, the 205T16 differs much from the Evolution 2... But to be said: anything that looks like an Div 1 (or WRC) car will look good on your parking place...

The only place you currently see old Rallycross (style) cars is in Norway and Sweden... Audi S1's (maybe converted road versions), old 6R4, RS200 and Escort of Iversen's. Audi S2 of Kristoffersson, some crazy Escort Cosworths and RS500's and some other RS200's as well. Oh and there is a guy with an old Escort with a Welsh BDT engine...

Um, think he may have had a BDT in the Black Mk 2 he had in 1980.

Dont think BDT's were around then? Was only used in the RS200 and before that the RS1700T Escort thatw as never raced

Might have used a BDG or BDX in the Escort? And then the turbo Zakker in teh high wing Mk2

Your right Chunder, think the only one to use the RS200 engine in the Mk 3 was Wahlund.

Hi, I have bought the remains of John Welch's xtrac Kadett that is pictured on your forum. We have enough to build a replica and are starting to get the rest of the bits we need. It will be back in action maybe as early as next year..

One of the additional light pods from the Paris Dakar Opel

Welcome to ten-tenths

Good luck with the rebuild - are you planning to rebuild it as a show car or will it be unleashed on the circuit? Any ideas on engine yet? The original used an odd engine if memory serves me right - block from a diesel rings a bell (anyone know any more on that?). Please keep us updated on progress it's always interesting to watch a car come together - even more so when it's such an iconic one.

Well, to do an exact copy of this car would need somewhere around the £150k mark as its not a diy kind of job .. I'm wanting a car I can construct myself and that can be used on track days etc that I can maintain on a reasonable budget..
It will look like a 4S/Kadett 4x4 Rallye but will have a chassis/suspension/transmission and engine from a production car

The 6r4 that Lawrence Gibson is driving... who did it belong to? who drove it in the early years?

Lawrence has two 6R4s as far as I know, but I'm not 100% sure which is which anymore. One of them is ex-Creegan / Kittle / Haffey / Moloney and the other one is ex-Moloney / Fraser / Moloney / McKinstry.

Maybe somebody else knows some more accurate information.
