As far as Im aware the GTS cars have all reverted back to the 2002 restrictors this year. The same as the LMP 1 cars and GT cars, hence a dramatic speed up of lap times at LM pre qualifying. As far as the rear wings go, at a track like Monza smaller rear wings should make lap times faster, not slower. As for the C5R engine being stronger than the Saleen's, Im not so sure about that Jag, im pretty sure that the Saleens are faster in a straight line than the Corvettes, its just since 2001 they had air restrictor penalties, now they dont as they have met the homlogation requirments, but unfortunatly we cant compare what a well sorted Saleen can do against that of a works C5R as there are no Saleens at LM this year.

Still, will be intresting to see what the race pace is like, just I somehow expected the GTS cars to be faster than what they are, and the same applies to the GT class, to a lesser extent.

I'm glad someone (Zytek) gives the Audi's some competition.
But, can anyone tell me what the Zytek is? Is it the same as last years DBA? And what Zytek-engine are they using?
Maybe i haven't paid attention, but i just missed this infomation.

About the Nasamax car, if given a little more time does anyone think it has the potential to take on the audis?

Regarding the GTS restrictors, whatever they are, they are smaller than in FIA GT.

Also the Saleen engine is usignificantly under powered in FIA GT, never mind in the LMES with a smaller restrictor.

Having said that, the traffic and track condition significantly affected the lap times

BTW, as far as I know, no teams ran qualifiers due to LMES tyre regs.

As for the NASAMAX, I think it can be the best of the rest after the Audis and Zyteks, which would be a huge achievment for the team.

JAG - as far as Im aware the GTS restrictors in the LMES are the same size as of those in the FIA GT, GT class. Still its not worth argueing about, as for no teams running qualifying tyres, that might have something to do with the times, but who can tel...

Saleen, I too thought restrictors returned to 2002 levels, but apparently not.

The track conditions/time, and lack of qualifiers (due to LMES tire regs) probably account for the 'slow' GTS time.


The Vette however showed what is capable with a factoey backed GTS car.
