2024 BTCC Round 2 - Brands Hatch
BARC event page - https://www.barc.net/event/toca-race...ndy-may-11-12/
We re back with option tyres for this one (soft being the option, medium the normal) but with the new rules that mean drivers who finish in the top ten in race 1 must use the hardest available compound for race. - if you use softs in race 1 then you only have mediums for races 2 & 3 regardless of race 1 result. - if you use mediums in race 1 and finish in the top ten then it's mediums for race 2 and softs for race 3. - if you use mediums in race 1 and finish 11th or lower then you can use softs in either race 2 or race 3, and mediums in the other race. It's also the first time will see the new 'Quick Six' format qualifying together with success hybrid penalties. Brands Hatch is such a short circuit that qualifying is likely to see the entire field covered by less than a seconds. Maybe a few surprises in store. TRAVEL REMINDER M25 will be closed between junctions 9 (A243 Leatherhead) and 10 (A3 Wisley) from 9pm Fri until 6am Mon. There's a 19 mile diversion in place so allow extra time if travelling that direction |

After the action packed Donington, I can't wait. Hopefully we won't have rain delay proceedings this time

Kinda BTCC related. I built an iPhone app for motorsport schedules and time tables. I'm sponsorship Jack Butels Porsche for the remainder of the season.

Surely it'll have to be the F4 over broadcasting 2 mini races (though they may go for shorter highlights of both, 10 mins each?) The TV coverage is about the only thing that is the big draw for F4 over Palmer's spinoff racing-dad-confusing rival championships, so they'll be put on the TV at some point, and then again at 2am on ITV1 if that repeat show is still going. Sadly though, the indy circuit is their worst track for racing so, highlights will probably be enough. |

To be fair, it's all relative. The average maximum for Malling is 17.3 (https://www.metoffice.gov.uk/researc...ages/u107dpz9j). So, 5-6 degreees above that is relatively significant for the time of year.

I remember getting quite sunburned sat in the Paddock grandstand some years back, its deceptive when you are sat in the sun for the entire day, plus the windburn. Get the cream!

It's becoming a thing, the last race last season was a bit warm, and the TCR races last year and this were unseasonably warm too.
Can we just have Tin Tops at Brands every weekend from now on please!! |

The one year at Brands Indy (maybe 2012?) it was about 25 degrees and needing hats and suncream. I think the following year (perhaps 2013) it was actually snowing on the Saturday it was that cold.

Not unexpected, but no 4th BMW yet -
“While at the track we’ll be doing all we can to take BMW to the top step of the podium, we’re also working very hard to put our fourth car on the grid as soon as possible.” |

Is there a deadline where it has to appear by before they have to forfeit the TBL? |

2019 was another bitterly cold one at Brands - the best way I found to keep warn was to hang around the Ginsters promo stand and keep getting fed pieces of hot pastries.

It is, after all, the more popular mobile Operating System. |

Android may be more popular as an OS, but it doesn't translate into downloads ir sales. It's a much harder operating system to develop for. You need to support many many more devices - many of which are a decade old. Androids stats are indeed higher, but it isn't as simple as that. That's why a lot of apps, such as Instagram, came to iOS first. And the cold fact is that despite having many more devices, the spend per user is significantly lower than iOS. So if I'm to make something a commercial success, then iOS has to come first. If the app makes money so I can hire and Android developer, then I will. But Android developers make more money than my full time salary, so it can't happen until then. |

Hosking is classed as a guest, and ineligible for points (not that there's much danger of him getting to the end of the race). |

I'm surprised Hosking is a guest given he originally signed up for the full season but there's probably some logic in there. |
