Community help
If you are running Netscape 7.0, could you view this page and tell me the issues you are having? To my knowledge, it is only an issue with Netscape 7.0 though if you try with 6.0 and have a similar problem also let me know:
http://www.mulsannescorner.com/panozlmp1.html I've tried multiple times to correct the issue with little luck and its a bit irritating. Can anyone help trouble shoot this issue? The site is built with Netscape Composer and farnkly I tend to not get my hands dirty with the html (does anyone these days?). Last edited by MulsanneMike; 10 Jan 2003 at 02:45. |

The only things I noticed (clean install of 7.0 with Sun Java, this page is the first I've viewed with it) are:
The text in the first two portions (tables) does not wrap so that the text stays readable without horizontal scrolling. It appears to be a problem with Netscape and wrapping text around images. Curiously, if you set the image to "wrap to the right" instead of "wrap to the left" the problem disappears. Another difference is that Netscape assumes a table with two columns has two identical-width columns, while IE seems to dynamically fit them. You might want to consider defining the width of the column with the photos adjacent to the specifications column. |

Further to that:
IE does not properly interpret the text wrapping if you change the image to "wrap to the right." Bit of a conundrum, that. |

I've simply reversed the text wrap for the top image on the page and it has solved the issue in Netcape 7.0. I didn't notice any issue in IE 6.0 or Netscape 4.75

That's what I had in mind for my first post, but try narrowing the window in IE and see what happens...
To be fair, it only happens once you're down in the 640 pixel width range. 800x600 full-screen is still ok. Last edited by paul-collins; 10 Jan 2003 at 16:03. |
