Old posts in new threads
Me again!
Recently I wanted to put a post that someone had said in an old topic into a new thread as part of a quote. So I went to the old topic and used the quote icon which was fine - but then this only re-opened up the old topic and I couldn't work out how to transfer the old quote into the new topic. Can it be done and if so how ? |

The easiest way is to click on the quote icon and edit your message as appropriate, highlight and copy the text box, go to the new thread, click reply, and paste then text.
Hope that makes sense |

It might be a good idea, to explicitely add the remark that you are actually quoting from a different thread.
As soon as you quote something, there is always some loss of context. When quoting within the same thread, many readers will either remember the context, or browse back to the original post. |
