Hi Badgeman62,
I've not actually marshalled Le Mans though I did go to spectate this year and enquired about marshalling it.
Get in touch with the MSA via their website and they will send you volenter forms when they come out. I do believe that you need to be graded Course at least before you get accepted.

A letter must be sent to the ACO from the chief of your Marshalling organization with permission for you to participate (English text is acceptable). That should be done as soon as possible. Contact me <thebear@marshalspost.com> for more specific information.

Badgeman, I have marshalled twice at Le Mans.
In December you need to get in touch with Peter Todd at the MSA. He will(unless you all ready have some)send you an application to marshal overseas form. Then later about Jan/ Feb you will recieve a certifacate to allow you to apply for the 24hr. You will then recieve the ACO paperwork in French as your details will have been passed on by the MSA at this point.
Fill that in and return it ASAP with a photocopycopy of your license( with photo)
and photocopy of this certifacate.
You will then recieve a letter from the ACO saying you can marshal there. You have to put what post you would like to do on you ACO application so it might be worth having a look.
You will hear people say yo cant do this or that. I have chosen 2 different post both French and not been turned down. Doing a foreign post can be v interesting. If you are going on your own to marshal then perhaps do a post with a few Brits. Camping is usually behind the post. Sign on is in the Town at the scruitineering for Mon and Tue and at the circuit expo centre from Wednesday Lunchtime. We always go for the week and make a holiday out of it. Also it is worth joining the ACO as it covers you for breakdown in France and you get a nice pack after the event with bits in it.
Hope this helps and I'm sure someone will say I've forgotten something ar similar.
RS.
PS I am going back agin next year.
