A third D&R car ? Seems quite odd but I guess they want bumping for 2007 and will do alot to make it a reality

There are 37 car combinations that, when drivers are announced, will try to qualify this year...

Looks like there will be more than enough to get to 33, and there will be some bumping....

Tim's done a good job summing up before Saturday's pole day. I think his article is worth reading.

I've been checking back since yesterday, and it seems that the Indy site hasn't published any Timing & Scoring Session Reports since Thursday's Session 3. (If someone finds them, let me know - they aren't with the others as of 0830 Eastern.)

I went ahead and captured Fast Friday's results here, though for those who want to check the field's times going into qualifying.

It depends. It is very possible that we will. There are another 8 possible cars that may come forward. They are:

Panther-J. Andretti
Curb/Beck/Agajanian-A. Barron
Penske-Probably just an extra couple of reserve cars. No driver likely.
Foyt-As above due to Al Unser's problems this week. Giaffone is still an outside chance.
Hemelgarn-T. Bell/CR Crews
Dreyer & Reinbold-R. Yasukawa
Curb/Beck/Agajanian-M. Papis (looking unlikely due to Grand-Am commitments)
Cabbie-R. Moreno

I too love both series. Though my support wavers between the 2 I am really looking forward to Indy this year. It looks like it'll be a good one & some bumping would be even better.

well what a bloody shame

after working like mad to get the car prepared, Jimmy Kite has spun the PDM entry into the wall

contact at the front and the back although it doesn't look as bad as what Medeiros did last year

and I believe that PDM have a backup entered

bad luck for that team though

almost all the damage appears to be suspension, he was only turning a lap in the 190's, so it was significantly lighter damage than before. If they hustle, they can probably have it back on track tomorrow.

They weren't sure if the car had tub damage, but it didn't look bad...

Loose oil fitting soaked the right rear tire was the cause....

At least they wn't be playing patchwork lik ethey did last year with Medeiros after he stacked their car on friday...they were scavening parts just to make the show..

But PDM does not have a "T" car listed....let's hope that the visual look signifies the damage and that it isn't worse...

oil fitting eh?! just shows how careful you've got to be

interesting that we didn't see any of the Foyt cars on track yesterday and no appearance from Gregoire either

Hemelgarn has leased the backup car from Racing Provfessionals (Jon Herb's team) and Richie Hearn has agreed to drive the car.

That makes 34 with Beck and Cabbie still out there, and possibly a third Foyt entry on Sunday if a good driver is still available.

Gregoire has picked up a back injury from a crash yesterday and his participation is now in doubt

I saw the crash live and it didn't look that bad and he got out of the car under his own power and was walking about

Gregoire is officially out...an MRI revealed a fracture on his third vertabrae.

I anticipate that Roberto Moreno will get this seat, but he won't have much time in the car...It needs a lot of rear work to put it back together.

Updates from Today:

Barron is expected to be in the Beck #98

PJ Chesson is the possible frontrunner for the Beck #43

Moreno is expected to be in Gregoire's #77, but they might not get out until Saturday

Kite's car is repaired and should be on the track sometime this afternoon.

Hemelgarn, with Hearn driving, may not be running until tomorrow....

And here is a new rumor:

Larry Foyt may drive the 3rd Foyt car....

Personally, I think he should be running the team instead of running laps....
