8Star thinking of dropping out of the WEC because of the silly driver rankings (mainly on 2-driver squads vs. 3-driver squads) |

Woohoo \/ Finally, the Peugeot Aftermath rule has been reverted. That's (two cars) how it was before the pullout. It served its purpose last year but imho not anymore.
But three cars? Really three or two best finishes from the three cars? Last edited by deggis; 27 Sep 2013 at 15:56. |

Perhaps the "best two out of three cars" rule only applies to Le Mans.

A 12hr race would be a nice addition just to mix it up a bit rather than just 6hrs (+ 24hrs of Le Mans).
Some great tracks on this year's calender - Silverstone, Spa-Francorchamps, Fuji, COTA, Sao Paulo - I hope they stay! Nürburgring is a classic name in motorracing, and having two German LMP1 teams plus a German based one (Toyota, Köln), it would be fitting to have a round there. Even though Spa is just 1.5 hrs down the road, Nürburgring would be my choice for a new round! |

Curious to see that the WEC 6 Hours of Fuji will be on the same weekend as the F1 run at Suzuka, I wonder which of these will move to accommodate the other?
The Sochi GP, which is scheduled for the First weekend in October is a question mark so there could be wiggle room on the F1 side. |

As expected, both RAM Racing and Signatech are looking to move up to the WEC after becoming ELMS champions. |

I think at Fuji that Toyota is going to take this one. In GT, I wonder if Porsche is going to be also-rans for the rest of the year. I thought the 991 would be stronger but at Sao Paulo and COTA they have not been up to snuff. Rather than battling for first, they are always battling for third or fourth. Every round (except for Le Mans) there seems to be that one Aston Martin and/or Ferrari that has a leg up on them.

Porsche have run into little hiccups. Theyve definitely had the pace tbh.

I'd say a little bit on the optimistic side at the moment but let's see where we are in a couple of months.
Interest has to be converted into a budget in a lot of cases. |

If there's one on that list that I hope comes true it's the Dome P1.

Haven't OAK already said they are scaling back to 1 car in LMP2 so they can concentrate on their P1 entry? Or have I made that up?

The car counts in LMP1 are definitely overboard in that prediction.
Audi and Porsche won't field three cars save for Le Mans and maybe Spa, Porsche hasn't even confirmed a third car for Le Mans yet. Both Oak & Rebellion will be having their hands full of fielding one car each, there's no way they will be running two in debut seasons with brand new cars. I think it will be one HPD, either Strakka or L5. I think nine cars in LMP1 is a realistic scenario. Six works cars and one privateer entry each from HPD, Rebellion & Oak. |

I think the numbers for LMP1 are slightly too optimistic. I expect all three manufacturers to run two cars for the full season. I also expect a third Audi at Le Mans and maybe Spa. But I'd be surprised if there was a third Porsche in their debut year.
For the privateers, I think we'll see two Rebellion R-One for Le Mans, but only one of them full time in the WEC. I expect one OAK too, but would be surprised about a second one. I think Strakka will be back in some way, maybe with an HPD. I hope that Dome find a customer for their LMP1 car, but nothing has been confirmed. So my expectations for LMP1 are 9 cars full-time, with 2-4 extra entries for Le Mans. |

AER has built a new LMP1 engine and would like to run it.
Dyson has some degree of ownership in AER. Dyson is undecided as to what they'll do next year. Call it a long shot. |
