Mallory Test Morning -June 3rd
As part of my ongoing recovery therapy, Elaine took me to the circuit this morning with strict instructions to stay in Race Control and not move, well it was quite a bit cooler than recent days so Race Control was probably the most sensible place to be, especially with the dust left from the weekends SuperMoto/Moto Cross events blowing everywhere. The first session was for saloons/sports cars and when they left the pit lane at 9 o'clock it looked more like the Paris/Dakar than Leicestershire.
Fastest from the 'off' and certainly the fastest in each tin top session was an unraced Aston Martin Vantage GT4 in virgin white, Justin Law looked quick in a Lister and he was certainly busy as each session he would swap the Lister for an imaculate red Mark 2, Jaguar 2.4. Others cars in thse sessions were: pairs of Caterhams and Mini se7ens. a Golf GTI, a Fiesta, a Lister Jaguar, an Alfa 33, a GT6, an MX5, a brand new BMW M3, a Mark 1 Escort and a Lotus Cortina. The single seater sessions were led by the Everyman F1 Tyrell, Rob Hall in a very quick BRM, a Brooke Bond Oxo Surtees, a Dallara 98 F3 car, a pair of Jedi's a Lotus F.Junior and only a Swift SC93 representing Formula Fords. For the second week running there were no red flags! is this a record? |

As you know I had a fit a couple of weeks ago, so being back among my friends (human & mechanical) can only be a good thing.

Part of the deal is, I buy her breakfast, so it's the diner first, she then goes back home to work and I wander up to Race Control.
