they'll probably ask the ACO to be allowed to race the Ferrari .. and ACO most likely will let the change

There is a misprint in the ACO list.

It says "2008" car - it really means "2007" car, i.e. the car they qualified in.

Note that the Autocon Creation is listed as a Ca06H, an ineligible LMP Hybrid! The RML car is last year's as well not the updated EX265.

I pretty am sure the BMS Ferrari won't be an issue.

It's never been that the car has to be the same, only that the car entered is in the same category as that which drew the automatic entry.

Haven't some teams run their previous year's cars due to the ACO not allowing them to switch?

I seem to recall Larbre and Cirtek having DBR9s in 2005, but running their 550s.

I think you'll find the request to switch was after the actual entry had been made and the full entry list published rather than after the acceptance of the auto-entry had been received.

The issue here is that ACO do try and "balance" the marques when giving entries and anyone switching after that spoils the balance.

seems like a good entry list although i would be a little bit skeptical as to the embassy P2 and the autocon creation CA07 AIM though, maybe even the noel del bello oreca-courage LC75 but the rest of the entry is pretty much what i would be expecting for next years race.

Also add to that the, in my mind, possible backing of AIM and Creation for LeMans so I see no reason for Autocon to not show.

I'd be staggered for Embassy to miss out on an invite. They've shown themselves to be a professional outfit, and critically for me, made the journey to Interlagos, which should have bought them some credit with the ACO.

I'd be a touch more doubtful about the 2nd Charouz - I'd see the Lola-Aston as a shoo-in, but for them to get a two car invite would depend very much on an interesting driver line up. I'd see the Dome, or potentially the YGK as coming ahead of the second Charouz.

It might well be the case that this is the year that some of the traditional two car entries from Pescarolo and Courage could even find themselves squeezed. In this vein the second Barazi might struggle to get the invite.

Hope so, along with the Epsilon Euskadi coupe. There could be as many as 6 coupes at Le Mans this year!

Incidentally, I also have to disagree with 'dj' about Embassy, I'd be astonished (not to mention extremely disappointed) if they were overlooked by the ACO.

What about a third Peugeot? Has this already been ruled out? Given their not so stellar reliability in the LMS last year, it would certainly make a whole lot of sense for them. And the ACO says, that p1 is for the manufacturers...
