A parking ticket is needed for Arnage - cost 8 euros. Possession of a different colour ticket may give you access.

Possession of an Arnage/Mulsanne entrance ticket doesn't mean you can park there.

The main car park is roughly opposite the entrance to the spectator banking and there's usually space available outside the busiest times. The overflow car park is some way down the road - nearer 15 than 5 minutes.

Parking on the adjacent roads is a non-starter. The gendarmes will clamp down pretty quickly.

The one-way system operates throughout the weekend: access is only possible from Arnage village towards the corner, then southwards. You can't go the other way you're a pedestrian or cyclist.

Hi guys

A few question for the more experienced ones.

We're going to Le Mans for the third time, and after having bought package tours the first two times, we've decided on planning ourselves this year. We've booked a camp site at Beausejour through ACO, but the info online is rather scarce. Can somebody explain to me how the camp sites are distributed? When we show up will we be given a specific spot or just told to find a vacant one? We won't be arriving until Friday morning, and as Beausejour is so big, we are worried that we'll end up some place at the back of the camp, having to walk 1km just to reack the exit of the camp.

Furthermore, we hope to use our car to go to Arnage/Mulsanne during the race, but will we be able to get our car out again once it is inside?

Thanks, Niels

BJ campsite is situated very close to the porsche curves and you will be able to hear the cars from where ever you camp, the site is not allocated and by friday you will have to find a spot but do not worry if you only want one space you will easily find somewhere.
Yes it is quite a long walk to the main area's but the is a sort of train thing that you can hop on and use to get to the pit straight. If you use the car to drive to arnage and then Mulsanne you will then have to go either around the entire circuit (open roads will be sign posted) or gut through the roads inside the circuit which you can join by following the green parking signs then just follow the road to the porsche curves.
Best not to use that route on Friday evening as Mad friday will make it either impossible or very unpleasant

Oh yes forgot to say welcome to the forum and perhaps we may see you at the meet on saturday

When you say around the circuit, do you mean clockwise around? Can't we just turn left when we exit the camp, go under the circuit and straight ahead in the roundabout towards Arnage city? The trip to Arnage/Mulsanne would be during race night.

No you normally go anticlockwise as the road at arnage can only be used from the village itself and when you leave you have to go towards Mulsanne, so you go that way it is much easier, after mulsanne head back to le mans and then once at Tertre rouge corner (well the roundabout before the mulsanne starts you can head down a small road (quite a steep hill) and then turn right which takes you under the track and onto the inner road that goes to all the green car parks/camping sites. If you get lost find the big carrefore supermarket and then take the road back to the circuit you find the second roundabout will force you to go left and the hill is on your right immediately afterwards

What time do things starting getting crazy on mad Friday. Might like to drive the public roads of the circuit for fun but don't want to deal with the madness! Thanks.

And how about road closures / restrictions on Friday? Are there any? From browsing previous posts, seems as most restrictions are on days track is in session. But on Friday? For instance, the D338, and the smaller roads from Mulsanne corner to Arnage?

Usually gets going late afternoon, and do not think it will be fun to drive through it, unacceptable behavior in the last few years has changed it from a laugh to a thing to keep well away from.

Many years ago they offert tours to new ACO members and they took you to the heart of the ufo. According to those who visited it was rather impressive. I think it will be something like that again. I might consider this.

Okay, so via Arnage village on the way to Arnage/Mulsanne, and all the way around the track when we want to go back. Thanks.

How is the parking situation at Arnage Saturday evenig/night? I'm guessing it'll be pretty caotic.

The same offer for the aco members for this year but not new, 2 different tours : one if you are a member since 5 ears and less, another if you are a member since 10 years.

It will be very busy. But you'll find somewhere to park. But as someone else has already said, be prepared for a 15-20 minute walk from wherever you are put to the enclosure.

The members offer is (1) for gold members with at least 5 years' membership and (2) members with at least 10 years' membership.

They won't need to wait that long, I don't think. So the station car park is where, exactly? Just making sure. The person who's picking me up can be direction-challenged. If I look at Google Maps I see a parking icon off Blvd Robert Jarry north of the station just slightly. Is that it? Looks like you come off Robert Jarry going north, do the circular bit around the front of the station and continue north to the parking.

Thanks bunches for the info!

It is just under the place and the tram line on the front side of the station (north side). And the car park normally is free for an 1/2 hour .
