Quite beautiful still has its unique look, plus the livery is just fabulous.
If it goes at well as it looks......
Anyway I wish them all the very best with it.

The Pug looks glorious.

I actually really liked the Lemans livery from last year, a shame that couldn’t have been used more.

vyselegend should be qualifying in the top 10 on the grid
Interview (in english) of Peugeot's technical director Olivier Jansonnie by former 908 driver Frank Montagny about the new 9X8 concept and expectations from Imola on.

He confirm only common parts with initial 9X8 are monocoque, doors, windscreen and air intake.
So legally just a big evolution, but practically a whole new car. He still doesn't tell how much tokens were used on this new design.

Hopefully they have learned the lessons from last year. It was said the car was too radical last year, so they probably are just going a bit more conventional this year

Yes a new car.As to the tokens used he previously talked about three (two for the engine/power train). Lets hope they will have a favourable BOP calculation to start with.

I'm still unsure as to why when there are preset levels of drag and downforce that they would paint themselves into a corner by using a concept that relies on a very specific set of real world variables all coming together in order to make the car operate in their performance window. Unless they felt like they were pulling the wool over someone's eyes and felt it gave them a straight line speed advantage in some way I dont know, its a puzzler.

Actually, it's more like an experiment, in utilizing a high downforce design. It's similar to what Jim Hall and later Brabham/Alfa Romeo, and recently McNulty with their example at Goodwood. Not to mention the one designed by the father of the McLaren F1 GTR.

Both active and passive ground effects designs have been around for quite some time, but the Reliance upon them to be central to a car's capabilities has been far from reliable, especially on the racetrack. It's the secondary issues that plague them, the 9x8 duly noted. And as the season continued, they began to crop up more and more, which was why they had this second design ready to go.

One guess I had about wingless design (which never got infirmed nor confirmed in their case) was that they were aiming at better capability of navigating through trafic and chasing another Hypercar.

Downforce from ground effects is supposedly far less perturbated by dirty air than wing produced downforce.
But it seems they misjuged the difficulties to seal air under the car without skirts or active suspentions, especially on rough and bumpy tarmac.

That being said, from what Jansonnie communicated about, it looks like the wingless approach wasn't the problem, squared tire size always was the issue. Bolting a wing on is more of a side effect since switching to 29/36 meant mandatory rearward biased center of pressure.

So now they would have at best 2 jokers left, possibly just 1 (assuming they used 1 previously, for season 2023?), with an entirely revised car. It sounds like this is somehow more feasible route than going through the entire homologation process and a new crash test. (The maximum amount of jokers is 5, regardless of amount of car homologations (maximum 2)).

Seemingly the car is proving much more promising than expected when reading these articles and interviews. Good news for Peugeot and for it's fans, and the WEC itself if this proves true.
