275GTB-4 should be qualifying in the top 10 on the grid
The Good Ole Days - Oran Park Nite Races

Does anyone out there remember an incident at OP during Black Pete's dominant reign involving a lady driving a burgundy Camaro? The poor lady/car combination in question had been advertised as a challenger for the mighty Mustang. Unfortunately, Pete was in his usual devasting form and crushed all comers. In particulr, I will never forget staring open mouthed as an airborne Mustang passed the Camaro on the entry to Robin Orlando and belched a huge flash of flames into the open window of the Camaro. By the way the front wheels wobbled the drver must have got a fright. To see the Mustangs suspension come crashing down from a four wheel jump, brake disks glowing red hot in the nite was a truly astounding sight (Ahhh nostaligia, it aint what it used to be!). So does anyone remember the the car and driver.

All the very best to all involved in Motorsport

Pat was still racing in the early 90's, she had raced a lot of different that I can remember, Ford Falcon, GTR Torana, Buick Riviera, Mazda Rx7 and lots more! I never knew about a Camaro but she would have been the person to try it!
She was very good in karts as well.
Her husband died in the early 90's and I have not heard about her for a while.

Thanks for that Morrie, The lady certainly does not seem to have let the attack by Big Pete phase her. Sounds like she has had quite an interesting career - some neat race cares there (Buick would have been a handful though!).

That brings back a few memories, I raced against
her quite a few time in Sports Sedans in the early 70,s at Oran Park, she could make you work to get past if she wanted to.And I was there that day Pete surved it up,Iknow just how she felt he did the same to me in one final at O/P, nearly blew the doors off my little FIAT 850 s/s along with A.Moffat.

Hey Eldougo, I would have paid to have been that close to the Mustang in those days. Speed differentials? yeah they had em even way back then!! I feel so lucky to have grown up in the area and to have attended so many great meetings. How about the Foley/Stewart Broadspeed braking at the end of the straight with the rears a good foot and half off the deck! Ross Bond Healy, Lakis Manticus, Lynn Brown in minis etc etc Alan Barrow humpy thats still going round. Fantastic.
