Bernie funds tail end teams

Article from Pitpass, that shows the extent to which Bernie keeps F1 teams on the grid. I read previously that he heavily funded Tyrrell (as borne out by the article) as supported EJ in the early days of Jordan

Bernie digs deep
24-05-2002

For some time pitpass has been reporting that despite what Paul Stoddart might have us believe, he is not alone in funding the Minardi outfit.
Indeed when pitpass was merely a gleam in HoJo's cold, cold eyes we were claiming that the real money men behind Stoddart's 'purchase' of the team were a certain tanned gentleman and a diminutive former team-owner turned supremo.

Yesterday, Bernie Ecclestone revealed to the British press that he has indeed assisted Stoddart with financial contributions, though the exact extent was not revealed. Ecclestone admitted that he had recently 'handed' £3.4m ($4.8m) to Minardi while Tom Walkinshaw's Arrows team received a £1.4m ($2m) 'hand-out'.

In the same week that Norah Tyrrell, widow of legendary team founder Ken Tyrrell, died of cancer, pitpass' Mike Lawrence reminds us that one of the reasons 'Uncle' Ken sold his outfit so quickly, and cheaply, to British American Racing was that Bernie was impatient for the return of the £13m ($18m) 'handed' to the team in its final years.

He giveth… he taketh away.

Champ69 should be qualifying in the top 10 on the grid
He also advanced Prost money last year to keep them going.
