a 2nd PWR/TWR 2 car Holden team

Ok, this one is a bit of speculation, possibly a case of adding 1 & 1 & 1 and getting 15, but here goes.

1. Supercheap rumoured to be pulling out, leaving Ellery to sell his L2 franchise

+

1. Motorsport News rumour file - Crennan/Walkinshaw teaming up with Kees Weel to buy a Qld Ford team to convert to Holden

+

1. Kees Weel holds on to his current L2 license and/or leases/sells it to TWR.

=

3. A 2-car TWR Holden team using 2 Level 2 licenses, possibly with HSV branding.

OR

=

15. I have no idea what I'm talking about and am just another forum tugger with an overactive imagination.

In the ideal world of TC, isnt there a desire to make it 16 Ford, and 16 Holden?
The Qld Ford team being purchased to convert to the Dark side doesnt seem to fit this does it?
I know TC doesnt own all the teams, but he seems to make all his wishes come true.

There could be a Ford team converting to Holden and it does seem to have connections with an interested overseas buyer. Apparently this person also wants another Level 2 franchise. I doubt that Kees Weel has anything to do with it though. From what i hear it is not TWR who is the interested buyer either.

That's almost definately not going to happen. There are things going on but if I posted it here I'd be absolutely smashed as I'm reasonably close to the action. You'll probably see everything unfold next year. But sorry, can't say.

It will unfold before next year. There's no way in the world it will not be revealed before then.

Well Bright50, is it true or not that TWR are not the interested party?

Well if PWR does become four cars, they will have to step up the engineering staff to make sure it happens. Writing a monthly cheque to Holden Motorsport for the provision of technical services isnt quite the same as controlling your own destiny with your own people....

... or am I missing a piece of the jigsaw?

I remember an interview with Crompton in 2002, when hje said, "what sort of business intentionally gets smaller? 32 cars, whats that about???" or words to that effect.

Its never been explained to me.

Whats wrong with heaps of people turning up and the fastest 36 or 40 or 45 depending on the track, the rest race on Saturday evening/night then go home??

How about Garth Tander and Steve Ellery for a team?

No actually do you know what I think?

I think Craig Lowndes is going to drive for Bap Romano and Kees Weel is going to sell his L1 to the gobbledock so he can buy two L2's, one from Tasman and the other from WPS to run a 2 car Alaskin sled dog team, the ex-Alaskin sled dog team will buy a QLD Ford team and convert it to Holden with the resourses of Kees Weel's Dencar operation (now owned by George W Bush) with the Easter Bunny and the Tooth Fairy as the two main driver, they may also be sourcing to run a thind car but may have to lease the same licence's sold to Kees back from the sled dog operation............................... and so forth.

AaB it didnt really take too much time or thought, just an example of how easy it is to start unjustified rumours.

There is a level 1 franchise changing hands for 2005. I know who the buyer is but I didn't know the seller......but after reading what others have said on this forum I believe it is Ellery's franchise...... and it will be going to Holden!

Thanks stmorri. At least you are specific and don't beat around the bush like many other posters; talking about some team that might be doing such and such.

Facts are good so would be less aero.

Sheesh Archer, I wish you'd check your facts before posting - Tasman doesn't own a Level 2 license. Only an L1 .

That and we all know the tooth fairy doesn't exist. It'll be Rudolph the Red Nose reindeer to partner the Easter Bunny.

On a serious note
a) stmorri, Ellery doesn't have an L1 franchise, only L2.

and before anyone else has a go about 'unjustified rumours', I believe there's a difference between being up front and saying "this is speculation", which I did, and gave the logic behind my speculation - as opposed to simply stating a rumour as a fact.

This was only ever a discussion topic. Been interesting to watch, especially those that have had some fun of their own with it.
