Zlobin returns to Minardi test role.

Ex Minardi test driver Sergey Zlobin will test for Minardi this year. Zlobin last sat in a Minardi in 2002, it looks like Paul Stoddart is on the hunt for Russian money again, as Zlobin is backed by businessman Alex Zborovskiy.

If it leads to some more money without requiring Sergey to race for them it is. Otherwise it's another largely talentless paydriver on the grid, and another misguided publicity stunt.

There's no chance Sergey will be racing - he wouldn't get a superlicence.

It's Paul taking sponsorship for testing, so good luck to them.

I think Gazprom is unlikely, after their last deal together ended somewhat unhappily.

That's the chap!

Do you need a superlicense to be a Friday tester?

If there ever was a Russian GP and Minardi put Zlobin out on the Friday I don't think many of the drivers would be happy, people talk about Baumgartner being a hazard on track, Zlobin would be on another level again.

You do need a superlicence to be Friday tester, yes.

I've never heard anyone call Baumgartner a hazard on track - he seems reasonably consciencious on that score.

DKGandBH has a lot of promise if they can keep it on the circuit!
Why would Gazprom not get a superlicence ?

Why do you think that Baumgarther is a hazard on track??? I don't think he ever caused an accident and did not have many offs either. That is not true of Ralf, Sato and some of the others....

None.

He's miles off the pace in anything he's ever raced.
