Just booked crossing and hotel for next weekend. Silly really to have thought I'd be skipping it - despite Motors showing full 6 hours.

Spa constitutes the first stand alone WEC event. And oddly enough the official WEC website (fiawec.com) is still a work in progress. Websites aren't exactly difficult to make, and putting something simple together with schedules, entry lists, and links to timing and scoring should be required of a "World Championship".

On another note, the FRC thread for this round has been posted and can be found HERE.

Maybe it's a sign of the limitations of the FIA/ACO arrangement.

The ACO already feel like they have a site in place and don't want to drive traffic elsewhere.

The FIA aren't going to build it themselves. They need someone from the outside to be commissioned but who is it that pays for that?

Get the SRO to do it, what they lack in putting together good world championships. They make up in putting together good websites :P

Only if you're attending. Wet weather racing in the Ardennes is always exciting and would make it up for the somewhat lacking entry list [compared to previous years]

Bleak indeed.

Mind you, last year I figured it was distinctly unnatural to be too hot at Spa and then distinctly chilly at Le Mans - maybe this indicates a return to the natural order of things.

Mind you - this looks like fleece and goretex time - which might be going a bit far.

It would've been tough to better last years weather. It was something like 30 degrees with full sun shine. At least you can protect yourself from the rain with a good jacket and some rain gear.

Can see where you're coming from - but there's raining and there's raining.

A bit damp, enough to warrant full wets or inters at best, could mix things up quite nicely, cascading rain with endless safety car laps - less appealing.

@NelisB - in all honesty prefer prospect of it being a bit cold and wet - have the right kit to stay dry and somehow that's a bit easier than trying to get cool - recall last year the schlep up to Les Combes carrying chairs etc being something of an undertaking.

Agreed, last year was a bit to much. Did a trek around the circuit and it was a bit sweaty at times. But we'll see what it'll be in a couple of days.

haha, point taken

I just wish GT-Pro was better, LMP1 without any challengers to Audi will be boring and i cant personally seem to get into LMP2 (lack of manufacturers/or relatable teams/maybe im just a snob)

So leaves me with GTs which i love but not enough at the top level

I can sort of agree... GTE is a bit poor-ish everywhere this year, expect in ALMS, and maybe IGTO if you wanna count it. GTE-AM is just pointlessly separated (and never gets any coverage which makes it even more pointless), I never cared for european LMP2 and as for the Audi class... yeah

So ALMS and P1 petrol are pretty much my treats this year

does the new vantage have bigger diameter fronts like the this year's corvette?

"During free practice at Sebring, AMR focused essentially on the set-up of the car’s suspension and anti-roll bars before evaluating the different Michelin tyres they have here, including the French firm’s new, bigger-diameter fronts."
