Denied by Red Bull Racing but doesn't identify who made the statement and of course, as the article points out, doesn't deny that Newey could be leaving for a sabbatical.
As with all the claims and accusations in this whole RBR saga, may be a while before we know what is really happening. |

Massive news - if it is true. I know a modern F1 car is the result of more than one mans labour, but even so I would imagine that pretty much every single F1 team would love to have him onboard.
Would he even want to continue I wonder? He must be minted and perhaps would like more time to do other things? It would be interesting to hear what he has to say. |

He has recently said he has no interest in retiring because he looks at his brain as a muscle that needs exercising.
Also because he could dictate the terms on which he was going to supply services to Red Bull I doubt those terms would have included gardening leave provisions. |

Jos Verstappen is running his mouth yet again.
https://x.com/Planet_F1/status/1785767706190340459 The blowup Jos is referring to here is Helmut Marko and their collective threat of Max leaving to get rid of Horner. That is the doomsday scenario he is painting. The real doomsday scenario for Red Bull racing is if Christian Horner leaves. He built RBR. He already managed the team through a down cycle and the loss of a 4 time champion driver in Vettel. Losing Max will hurt. But losing drivers is part of the business. That Horner has 18 years of experience with. Even Pierre Wacha reports directly to Christian Horner. Not Newey. Or Helmut Marko. Does anyone really think that Red Bull will be the same with Wacha reporting to a rookie CEO like Oliver Mitzlaff ? Who was running marathons when Red Bull started? Not a chance. |
