2009 British Superbike
Well, the new season kicks off this coming weekend...
How about that for a pointless post? I just wanted to remind people but there was no 2009 thread. I didn't see the point in starting a new thread for such a small post. |

I see nothing wrong with it. I wonder how Airwaves will do with zero practice time. The American Yamaha team has not had much success with the new R1. But Airwaves are said to be using data from the WSBK team. Should be an interesting comparison. Am I also correct in remembering that Crescent Suzuki are going with one bike only? Is Ellison riding again this year? |

Lol Brookes has been sent home for not having the right papers to work over here!!
How I laughed when I read that one! Dont think it'll be for long but many UK race fans will be tickled by the irony! Our former biggest team emplying two Aussies, yet haveing to rely on a bloke from down the road!! Plater! |

Who's the bloke on the other HM Plant bike?
Bummer about Brookes. Never take anything for granted. It's usually best to have that stuff sorted ahead of time. |

So, not a single Ducati in the premier class. What is that all about. Did Ducati takes their bikes away?

I thought Airwaves dumped Ducati? Or was there more to it?

Glen Richards is on the other HM Plant Honda - won the Supersport title last year on the Triumph.
Personally, i wouldnt have thought that Glen should be on such a good bike as he has had a crack at BSB before & he aint no spring chicken - but, good luck to him |

Rutter was looing at Dukes again but the cost is very highe to run Corsa bike I think and the Yam is as quick out the box one suspects I think there may be a Duke but only private |

Hydrex Honda are looking strong at Brands. HM Plant are in the hunt along with Guintoli and Camier. What's up with Ellison? He's at the back...

Ellison is fooling everybody into thinking he's 4 seconds off the pace. Come race day he'll smoke 'em. Or he may just continue to be 4 seconds off the pace!
Being serious though, I'm not sure how he's managing to lose so much time around a tiny track like Brands indy... Must be bike problem or he's hurt himself. |

Six months to get a visa application processed is actually pretty typical these days. Brookes came here speaking fluent English, with a well-paid job lined up, and no terrorism convictions - why would our Government see him as a priority?
STP are also missing, as the MV Agusta isn't ready. |

I like BSB, dont get me wrong but that looks a very weak entry list. A lot of old lags.

For BSB, see WSBK and WSS.

No Dukes in Superbike, though Scott Smart is on one in Superstock 1000...

It's not cheap or easy to get the Ducati on the pace and within the regs. Compared to the Jap bikes anyway.
There's a Duke running in the WA Superbike championship this season, though. The 2008 champ is on it, so they're not planning on messing around at the back! Hopefully 2010 sees Duke return to BSB. |

I think Guinters is a top talent
To ride and learn Brands that quickly is amazing, especially when you consider how useless Watanabe was last year!! Class rises to the top I think! |

Last Year? Watanabe was poo this year too...
Camier & Yamaha win race 2 - been a while since Yamaha won in BSB.... Good to see Jason O'Halloran get some solid points on the SMT Honda |

Brands Indy is a pretty easy track to learn, and more importantly - great fun. Only about 5/6 corners from memory. There are some tracks on the calendar which will not be so easy. I can't wait for his reaction at Thruxton and Cadwell! They really earn their money there. Rather them than me...
I reckon he'll be there fighting for the title at the end of the season, though, and on a WSBK in 2010 (replacing Kagy?). Go Guinters! |

Guintoli did a track day at Oulton Park and reckons he'll have to shut his eyes on a few corners!

Camier seems to have the measure of Ellison. Guinters had two podiums, not bad.
