MotoGP Riders Association?
In the past few days, comments from Carlos Checa have been circulating in the press about a lack of unity within the MotoGP riding fraternity and also about the lack of input the riders generally have in things regarding circuit safety. They can voice their concerns, but generally it is as individuals and not as a group.
But after recent events, Checa has called on riders for unity, and perhaps it is time for the MotoGP riders to form a riders association, much like the one of this thread title, and perhaps modelled on other associations. The one that comes to my mind is the Grand Prix Drivers Association (GPDA) that at least has a voice in F1 matters. A Riders Association would be beneficial for riders who have concerns about their own safety and also the conditions of circuits they visit, provisions such as medical facilities and other such things. But this association would have to be an effective tool and not just a 'name' given to the riders to make them think they have a say. |

Y'know, it'd be a real disservice to Kato to try and get his favorite track either butchered or kicked off the schedule.
The GPDA is a bunch of spoiled whiners. Some drivers won't even join, they're such a pathetic bunch. "The track is _wet_! We can't drive!!!" NO ONE is EVER _FORCED_ to be a racer! If Checa or anyone else doesn't feel MotoGP is safe, there's a really simple solution: STAY HOME! |
