I'm looking forward to this one. If TK can get a result here like last year then he'll crank up the pressure some more on Dan.

That is assuming Dan doesn't finish 2nd again!

For the continued advancement of the series it would be good if Wheldon had some mechanical gremlins or botched strategies in the next 2-3 races. A DNF in one of the next races and a strong points haul for the chasing pack would spice things up greatly.

In order to continue the momentum gathered this summer the IRL needs a tense season finale and not one where Wheldon is cruising to the title with 2 or 3 races to spare. Remember the Chase for the Nextel Cup will be sparking off at the same time...

He got over hump number 1 at Kansas where he never finished higher then 9th until this year.

Nashville last year he had the best car IMO,and would've won the thing if that incident didn't happen.I exspect they will not gamble on tires this time around, even though they did prove they could've finished the race fine on the tire they had by only changing the one that went flat.

Milwaukee was his worst race the whole season,I think he'll be better this time around for sure. After that he didn't finish lower then 4th the whole rest of the season.

I'm looking for an upset here!

Scott Sharp, and Vitor Meira, have been extremely close to victories this season, but have just fallen short. Both of these guys are due for a win IMO, and one win, can lead to more for these guys, which could change the complexion for the season. And you can't count out Danica, Rice, or Enge either. They are due also...

Should be a great race!

I don't think Danica is ready for the win, especially not at Nashville. She showed at Kansas that she has a lot to learn about the side by side stuff, is terrified of the high groove, and that slippery concrete at Nashville isn't going to make her any more brave.

Vitor Meira.. man, that guy has to win soon. His mid-season form last year was spectacular - too bad in coincided with Buddy's good form!

I'd love Vitor to be in victory lane on Saturday, with TK second, Buddy a strong third - his luck has got to change soon. If Dan finishes outside the top ten then the championship standings will look much more interesting on Sunday.

I would be very suprised to see Danica up there. I wouldn't bet against Vitor Meira having a strong finish. And well Hornish has got to be favourite...

So Buddy is back to the IRL. The Nashville concrete short Superspeedway is definately a tricky one to learn and you can see that his experience will pay of and no doubt he will be competitive. Where as rookies such as Danica and also Briscoe and Enge who have very little oval experience.

"You're so ****** loud in my ear!"

Teehee, shame we lost pictures at the end to not see Dario take the win in this high attrition race...two Rahals, two Panthers, 3 Andretti-Green's, a Ganassi and a Cheever at least to my very rough count.

Good result for Cheever with a 3rd for Carpentier...(what do you think, 'Patrick on thd podium' might shift a few papers?).

On to Milwaukee madness.

That was a rather underwhelming race. Apart from Franchitti, Hornish and Patrick with about 50 to go, there wasn't much going on that caught my attention.

Why did Rahal decide to put Patrick out of sequence? The strategy was never going to work, and they were *very* lucky to even stay on the same lap. The cynic in me says that they only did that to give her some air-time.

Anyways, nice to see Dario win again.

Rahal put Danica on that strategy to get her up front in case it rained - which was a very real possibility.

He also took her out of sequence because she was back in 12th place....they had to do something to see if she could catch a break....

Look at what it did later in the event for Carpentier to stay out....He was never in the hunt until both of their cars stayed out...

Dario finaly got what he deserved, should have been a multiple winner this year so far.

Weird suspension faliure for Kanaan when both fronts failed under the caution and obviouly poor luck for Manning who was collected up in it.

Shame there was a technical fault in the last 3 or so laps!

If Danica was up front during that last caution, and it was sprinkling you know they would've red flagged it lol

To say he's "broken his back" is maybe an exaggeration, but it does seem he has a couple of fractures which may keep him out of the Milwaukee race.

Would you care to explain the L1 and T12 vertebrae luke?

Pretty average race really, plenty of incidents of the wrong kind. Roll on Milwaukee, I say.

It didn't help that we lost the coverage at the end. But Keith Heuwen made up for it as the credits rolled.

It's a start...

Dario's victory was long overdue. I think Michael's comments post-race summed up the situation nicely: Dario & his team have consistently produced the strongest car this season but their luck has been non-existent. Arguably this could have been his 3rd or 4th victory of the season.

Here's to a strong rally by Franchitti and the rest of the chasing pack in the second half of the season...and a really close season finale!

Latest news on Enge is that he has injured a couple of vertebrae but not fractured them.

He's hoping to be fit for Milwaukee, which would be good news.
