Seems likely - after all, with just one chance to get real Le Mans experience in the car - as opposed to endless test mileage somewhere else, there is no point in turning the wick all the way up and risking breakages - either of the mechanical kind or the Petrov kind...

Great sequence it looks like about the same spot as Martin Shorts crash, but IMO the first frame shows rear left suspension failure or has the tyre let go?

Thanks for posting the youtube clip - OK, not the greatest quality but the sound's not bad and it's certainly put me in the mood for going over next week.

( Guess I'd better take some binoculars - all that fencing wasn't there in the early '80s.... )

Well done! That's just reminded me of a question I had for anyone who was at the Test Day; was there a noticeable difference in noise levels given that the ACO have imposed the 113db limit this year?
