Exactly. The two occasions I’ve raced at LMC didn’t feel like demos!

It will do a few laps according to this article, so a demo, not racing in the Group C class.

Shame, but in reality the car should be worth more than Tesla

Each plateaux will have 60 plus cars in it and therefore plenty of different races within each race, There are massive differences in speed yes but with plenty of cars and a long lap, within a few laps they are spread out and fighting thier own battle with cars of a similar age and performance

Spot on. There is usually a considerable difference between the slowest and fastest in each plateau, but with 60 odd cars, always someone to race.

And because eac h plateau races 3 times you get to see each one race twice in the light and once in the dark, if you manage to stay awake, i usually pick the which time is best to grab some sleep. However there are usually a few incidents that throw the whole programme into a mess for a while.

Some grids definitely go for it from what I've seen just accelerating towards the kink before Indianoplis after Mulsanne corner and Porsche curves.

e.g. 2 leading GT40s very close for 5 or 6 laps before both crashed off in drizzly weather or 7 cars line a stern going through Porsche Curves plus lots of offs and trailers out.

It raced last year at the Silverstone Classic and Peter Autos Barcelona and Monza meetings winning twice.

It's the only car in private hands. Hope that helps

Here it is at Last years Silverstone Classic.

Thanks for that, so might see it this year as also doing the silverstone classic, watched them racing the cars at lemans in the "old days" so excited to see them actually doing what they were built for rather than sitting shamefully in exhibitions like stuffed animals. IMHO

Actually two out of the eleven chassis built are owned privately.

002/3 was sold in 2001 after achieving a podium at Le Mans.

004/1 (the Shaun Lynn car) finished fourth at Sebring in 2003 and was fastest in the Le Mans Test Day that year.

Thank you for that, so there is a chance that at sometime in the future there could be two of them racing.

For your information, there will be a book published soon on the Speed 8, it is almost at the printing stage.

Author, Andrew Cotton, has had extensive access to Bentley's archives and the key persons in this fine story.

I understand that 002/3 is in the US where it ended up after the original purchaser, "Ricky" Chiba, sold it.

Chiba is well known in endurance racing circles as being the owner of Team Taisan.

The LMP side is a bit thin but alright

With these 2000's cars coming in to the event, the Classic is definitely looking more interesting than the actual 24 Hours where the awful (2021-) regulations have ruined the fun

Stand tickets for Classic

Don't believe the stand tickets for Classic are seat specific (know main event stand tickets are) as seem to remember they are normally up to 80% full at peak times and it was a matter of sitting where there was space.

Can anybody confirm if this is case for LM Classic and in particular ACO stand - as may buy 4 direct at Members rate and then another 2 from ticket operator.

They are non specific, but think the ACO stand are not available through agents only the aco itself or tourist office.
