Don't get me started on this again!

Bring back the Dunlop curve, the straight to the esses and the Mulsanne straight (with hump!).

Wonder how many extras will be added to this over my lifetime!

Hi there Paul ! Good to see you back in the GT/Sportscars forum !

The hump is still there, even if it was flattened a little bit.

The track had other modifications along the LM history ; there will be more. The curve downhill killed our favourite postcard, but the place is still interresting for pilots... and public !

For the Hunaudières... you know what I think about Jean-Marie Balestre...

I think Ayrton had a soft spot for him Paul - the soft spot in the head he probably wished he'd punched instead of Irvine......

Im afraid you cant have your hump mate ..... Take a look at Pescarolo's web site and you will see that he has bottled the earth from the hump and you can buy some . A hump in a bottle , that sounds very interesting to say the least , whatever floats your boat I guess !!!!!

I have images of reconstructing it in my back garden!!
It'll give me somewhere to put the 1997 prototype rear tire that gets moved around the garden. ha.

Thanks for your answers Although it is interesting that even a definite thing like top speed can be so vague. Perhaps it isn't surprising though.

As an aside. I have always thought it an integral part of Le Mans that cars get (significantly) over 200mph.

Odd that they don't put permanently a speed trap :
- on the fastest part of the late Hunaudières
- at the fastest point between Mulsanne and Indianapolis curve

Well, the slowest cars reach barely 300 km/h, but it's no so bad ; the lap time is more significant now.

The Domes seem still to reach 340 km/h (well, I hope !).

The Domes reached into the low, low 330's. Still about 207 miles per hour.

So low ?

Too bad it's in a part of the circuit we're not allowed to pay a visit. Except some clever ones around - mind the Gendarmes !
