When Shorty ran the Radical , written under "Bruichladdich" was Island water . So I guess they decieved a little bit ?

Shame we wont see that Patron one though !!!
That is actually quite easy to rectify. The Patron factory is a destination also.

link and from what I have garnered quite an extravagant one at that. So jus put 'Hacienda del' instead of Tequila in front of Patron (in small letters of course) on the side pods and you are advertising the destination and not the "Spirits". And Bobs your uncle!

Just found this on EI .....

Doug's Aston could be related to the Bunnies below (hey, I'm getting to sound like Murphy!)

Below was a pic of a McDonalds sponsored 997 GT1 .

Are they reffering to Doug Fehan's suggestion that there may be a DBR9 in the ALMS , possibily sponsored by McDonalds ?

Or am I wide off the mark , again ?

Hey Guys,

The Tecate Girls are very nice. There is a small trick to view it. Just open his link and then copy and paste it into the location bar on your browser and hit enter.

Enjoy!

Martin, see you at WDWT on Monday

Phil

This is going to be very speculative but: Newman/Haas?
ALMS has to have better prospects than CCWS now.

The Ford that the Robertsons used wasn't their race car to be, it was a converter street car used during a club meet back in December.

The McDonalds Porsche 997 has nothing to do with this Aston Martin Rumor.

There are 3 key elements to this rumor.

Unitech racing recently posted a thread on the Grand-Am message board, stating that they are currently looking for personnel for an ALMS GT effort. Unitech raced Nissan 350Z's in Grand-Am with Playboy livery.

Doug Fehan recently stated in an interview on Endurance-Info that there might be an Aston Martin competing in the ALMS this year.

Murphy titled the section about the Aston Martin DBR9 rumor in his latest blog "Corvette Playmate".

Add those together and you get a possible Playboy/Unitech Racing Aston Martin DBR9. We shall see.

Understood, but I thought Doran or someone had said they were planning on WDWT, but probably not there the first day--which had left the impression of thrashing to build and hurrying down.

Regardless, I guess I will go ahead and go visit too.

I think that GT2 Porsche is going to be a LMS part time racer only. Id love to see that thing over here, especially since its a GT1 contender.

Rules and oversubscription of the series likely means there will be no part-time racers in LMS. If you don't make the list, you're going to have to park it or go elsewhere to race.

What might kill LMS full grids are onerous entry costs and requirements to race off-continent (or penalties if you don't).

And then you subtract the fact that the rumoured entrant has barely been able to field a horribly mediocre 350Z the odd time in GARRA. That puts a little damper on the idea of them running a competitive GT1 Aston, no?

I agree here. If the grids are Oversubscribed, then teams will have to ( heaven forbid) qualify on TIME, to get into the final grid.

Just becuase you have a car, team and sponsors does not mean your going to make it into the big show. If that car does not have the GO to be competitive, that team goes home to make changes and come back the next race to qualify again. Sounds like NASCAR, but it works.

Makes the race much more competitive.

I also agree with the second paragraph above. For get the 'off-continent' races unless THAT promotor pays to have the teams show up. And if that promotor pays for teams to show up, dont penilze the teams that dont show up.

Over seas travel takes too much of a medium size teams budget. Small teams just cant do that travel.

Didnt they reserve a few places for national teams last year ?

So you may see that Porsche at Spa for example ?

Jota will run the ex-Charouz Lola B07/10 Judd for Cytasport in the LMS (up until Le Mans) this year . Graff-Picket for the LMS with Lammers to join them for Le Mans if they manage to secure an invite !!!

Brilliant news ..... hats off to Cytasport .

Excellent Hope Cytosport get an invitation to LM then!!

P1 in the ALMS is going to be a little thin then until after LM.....the old car is apparently going to Europe as part of a 'spares package'....according to DSC, not clear if that is just before LM or if it will be post Sebring.

He's just making a spelling correction, no need to get defensive.

I wish the team the best of luck and hope that Klaus and Jan compete with the other Petrol P1's. I hope they will be back in the ALMS for Lime Rock as that is my 'home' race, but Mid Ohio is probably more realistic. Oh well. We had 4 cars in P1 for the first half last year, so I guess it's deja-vu all over again as Yogi says...
