Two more rounds (Monza and Nordschleife) and it would be almost perfect... |

While we're at it, there's also a Thiessen quote about talking with the ITR, the JAF, the FIA and the ACO. Concerning common DTM-Super GT rules for 2011! They're talking about BMW running their ALMS M3 in this new DTM, but this makes little sense to me.
http://www.touringcartimes.com/news.php?id=4257 That could be an interesting alternative to GT2 after it has priced itself out of existence and to the new GT1 after no one actually builds new cars for the category. |

The inclusion of Hungaroring and not Brno to give the series an Eastern European presence is disappointing. What a doze of a track. Can't say it's the most inspiring schedule, as we have gone a long way from the classic venues that the series started with.

They should have had that race at Dubai, that would have been something. |

With the Nurburgring now gone it's looking a bit grim.
What was the reasoning behind Monza's disappearance from the calendar this year? I'm completely in favour of marketing to different regions, but without the classic events the series loses some of it's prestige (imo). |

Brno would be a better option than Hungaroring

LMS is a European championship. Leave Dubai for the Intercontinental Cup. Besides that, that Tilke look-a-like circuit is boring death! |

Remember that Paul Ricard has the longest straight (folowed by a fast corner!) in Motorsport, besides Fuji and Le Mans
Great track to test for Le Mans (but only if they use the version of the track with no chicanes at Mistral). |

Mind you that teams will also be given the opportunity to stay there for some days after the race and test on the track.
So we'll have pre-season testing at Paul Ricard, a race and then some more days of testing... |

The Iberian Peninsula, which is generally more crazy about bikes than cars, has a race (thankfully Barcelona is gone so it's not two races0, while Germany AND Italy have nothing?! What is wrong with this picture?
Hungaroring is going to be horrid with the traffic mess it will be. Paul Ricard could be good, especially if they do NOT use any of the Mistral chicanes. Yes, get Brno in there for Eastern Europe! Do something about Germany! Get Hockenheim or Sachsenring in there, or sort things out with Red Bull Ring or Salzburgring if you must, but do something in that territory. Market the series in Italy! There should be NO EXCUSE for this with all the F430s running around. Get Monza on the schedule, period! I suppose, if pushed to it, Mugello or Imola would work well for the LMS, but there certainly is no true substitute for Monza. I think, with promotion of course, Turkey wouldn't be a bad option. It's one of the better new circuits, and for a track on the eastern reaches of where we'd be looking with regards to thew LMS, it's one of the few suitable tracks in my book. It's certainly better than Hungaroring, and I can't think of any other venues apart from Brno in the Eastern Bloc or the Balkans that measure up to what is required for this series. The 22 entries for Interlagos certainly was NOT six, unless you know a new system of maths that has come into vogue. And Dubai is decidedly better than most of Tilke's constructs. Dubai DOES have discernible changes in elevation, and is not just another circuit of straights and hairpins. The hairpins it does have actually have a flow to them, rather than being these very sharp, geometric figures we see with much of Tilke's designs. |

Oh yes, add Turkey... We all know what a huge success that was when the LMS raced there before.
