RaceFreak should be qualifying in the top 10 on the grid
What WAS McLaren thinking....

Sunday at Silverstone McL brought DC in for his second pitstop, yet didn't top him off to finish the race....

This necessitated a THIRD pitstop, which cost him points.
I thought they paid someone to keep track of details like this ?

Still, superb drive from the veteren.

I didn't even catch that.
Too Bad it seems as if they are sabotaging David, just so Kimi can Win, and he can get Manufacturer points, and block out other teams..Is DC the new #2 at McMerc

Only when the supposedly 'ice man' stops to break whenever he's under pressure. Not exactly the iceman just yet

Kimi has a chance to be the champion DC doesnt so i think it
is sensible on Mclaren's part to favour Kimi.Mclaren will probably not win the constructors title so the WDC is the only chance of glory this year.

No way, just not true. It is highly unlikely that this conspiracy theory would be true.

Perhaps they didn't fit his cockpit surround correctly on purpose?

When was DCs second stop? How far from the end was it. Maybe the team felt that from that point it was quicker to do it with another quick stop in between.

DC was dead last at one point and he finished fifth (and all the people ahead were from the top three teams) - sabatage? I doubt it.

Plus, Kimi made a mistake braking on what appears to be OIL. JPM said it also. Not a question of cracking under pressure

Unless, of course, you make a habit of braking in oil instead of looking out for / driving around it...

DC had the same strategy as da Matta, probably the teams felt the faster pace that they were able to run without having to fill up was the better option.... who knows.

Not when another driver is right behind his tail trying to overtake . How many times have we seen him fumble?

Yes indeed! I remember thinking at the time of DC's second stop that "Oh I suppose they'll refuel him until the end". I was stunned when he came in for a splash and dash! He was on for a good position, ruined by a questionable strategy.

If they had fuelled him to the end, he might have been really slow because of the massive weight and then people would be saying that his race was ruined by a questionable strategy!

Or maybe McLaren have a plan (as they have done since 1998) to ruin DC's race strategy. In fact his victories are worth two of anyone else's because his own team doesn't want him to win either (I've seen worse posted).

Well, I guess it just goes to show, anybody at any time in Grands Prix can look either a genius or an idiot based on the smallest of circumstances.

I agree with your point about McLaren. I still don't like the way Hakkinen was favoured.

He was 'favoured' because he was quicker. The opportunity was there for Mr Coulthard. DC just need to be better and Mika was good, very good.

It shows you just how bad his qualifying actually was!

What I'd like to know is why he didn't go straight to the pits to have his headrest fixed as soon as he knew it was loose.....on lap 2! Then he wouldn't have caused the first safety car.
