I'm liking the high contrast and haze myself... very nice indeed... it's moved slightly away from being like a photograph... I love the boat on the Long Beach 77 - it's almost Turner-esque!
But - I would try and move away from something photographic and try to make something that can only be done on canvas... inject a bit of movement in to the artwork... go crazy... get messy... If I want photographic I'll buy a photo... if you see what I'm getting at? True artwork is something that comes from your own hand - not copying point to point what you see from real life... Ooeerrr did I just write all that? James |

I like them a lot.
Although, if I had to be critical, there is a slightly "photoshoppy" quality to them and I agree with James that, just maybe, a slightly "looser" style here and there might be worth trying. Good stuff though

I'm no expert but I like them as they are - there are plenty of "arty" ones around if you want them.

There arent enough arty ones in my opinion. Besides - "arty" ones is what "art" is all about isnt it
There is a place for everything of course... My suggestion to go more arty is really just to try another direction. You need to find your own style in art... it's all about bettering yourself and trying new things that you havent done before - not sticking with exactly the same style forever... I really like the Lauda one at the top.
Although the others are technically excellent they are a little too much like photos for my liking too. I love the ship in the background of the Long Beach one, but I think it would work even better if you could somehow bring the view point down to the level of the cars a bit more rather than looking down on them from above. Still very good work though and well worth persevering with. |

You have such a great talent.....I can draw well, but I so wish I could paint pictures of such a photographic quality. A great gift to have! |
