ian.stewart should be qualifying in the top 10 on the grid
Baffling question?

One of the winter jobs to be done is increase the capacity of my sump, can someone tell me how to baffle a sump, I think I know, but the last thing I want to do I wipe out my crank for the sake of " I Thought that was the way to do it" syndrome,
Is there a source of info telling me how to baffle my sump correctly, or failing that, I remember seeing a baffle kit somewhere, any ideas.

Ian

Have a look at the U-Weld Moroso sump kit from Real Steel I have these on my Chevy engines and they work well. Actually mine are readymade Morsoso sumps but the U-Weld kit is based on these not sure if they are suitable for Rovers but I am sure Real Steel would advise you. .

a basic baffle consists of a horizonal plate bolted or welded in the sump level with the upper oil level, which has a hole cut in it large enough to allow the oil pickup through, ideaily the hole should have a downturned lip around it, the lip helps prevent the oil coming over the top of the plate under hard cornering/braking.

These guys will be able to tell you. Although I'm about to chop one, i've never baffled one.
