Herta to F1?

More than one outlet are saying Brian Herta will be a test driver for Arrows next year. Did he even have a seat in CART next year, and if he did, who takes it now.

Gerald Forsythe shut down the Indeck car he drove last year. Ans he had noother offers. Apparently he contacted both BAR and Arrows about doing testing and they seem interested. I know Red Bull has been making noise about an America driver, so maybe they are the impetus behind the Arrows test.

I understand Red Bull wanting an American somewhere, but Herta never really made much of a name for himselft in CART -- I can't see him ever being a race driver in F1, though he may make a decent enough test driver.

Um, let me get this straight: Herta is a man without any sponsorship, who has never won an international championship or even the Indy 500, who has received no offers from any team in his home country, and whose sole qualification for F1 is apparently that he's American, is going to compete with a field of unprecedented depth from all over Europe, Asia and Australia for a test driving job in the most elite of all racing series?

BRYAN HERTA?

Right, and Alex Barron is going to get the next available drive at Williams.

Never underestimate the ability of Tom Walkinshaw to pander to his sponsors!!!!!

Red Bull wanted Bernoldi at Arrows. They got him.
If Red Bull wants an American driver at Arrows and Herta is available, they'll get him.
