Subaru_WRX_STi has a lot of promise if they can keep it on the circuit!
European Le Mans Series and Blancpain Endurance Series openers the same weekend. Wonder how many GT3 cars will be in the ELMS event!

IIRC wasn't it another re-named reincarnation of the Atlas eFX Saleen operation from a couple of years back, but with added Pammy?

The original plan last year was an Aston in ELMS and GT Open, which never materialised- I don't think we ever saw any more than a rendering of the livery. At least we seem to have an image of an actual Audi this time...

Maybe the ACO turned them down because they were planning to install 2 airbags in the car...

I did hear something of them racing a GT3 Ferrari last year, but could be wrong. Lets hope things do happen this time as it would mean a bigger grid for ELMS

Slight side note, anyone know what the situation is with ELMS and Le Mans invites? Any automatics being handed out for the class winner and runner up?

The automatic invitations that were handed out for this year's race suggest that... yes. Thiriet/TDS and OAK in P2, JMW and JMB in GTE-Pro and AF Corse and IMSA in GTE-Am.

That rings a bell with me as well- IIRC after the Aston deal didn't materialize, there was some rumour or even announcement of a GT3 Ferrari for either Blancpain or GT Open, but needless to say that didn't happen either....

Hopefully not, DSC reported as recently as Jan, 20th that MTECH would field a brand new 458 GT2 in GT Open and non clashing ELMS races (as far as I can see only 1, Portimao vs. Imola).

Which spec of RSR will they race with? 2011 or the wider 2012??
They haven't got the 2012 spec last year, but it will be too tough to compete against the 458 with the old spec

ACO people that were at Daytona told Dailysportscar that 25-27 entries are expected for the ELMS this year. And they should know, since they collect the entry forms now.
