to their credit generally they don't just report any old speculation. which this was. you tend to only see things with quotes or decent sources. which now, this is.

I deleted the Brazilian GP coverage yesterday. Highlights are on tonight at 23:00 GMT on skyHD. iplayer will still have the coverage. I don't know if either has any analysis on the incident in question. I know the full sky coverage did. I can't find a full replay in the planner.

No, on the other one (there were three) it was a slippery track light (solid, and actually red/yellow) not a yellow (flashing).

A testament to Vettel's observational skills and knowledge of the regulations rather than anything else, methinks. How many other drivers weren't aware of what exactly was going on with the flags and lights? Alonso? Surely not!

cant say i even want to look at or consider the evidence here simply because Ferrari have just cried wolf one too many times for my liking.
thinking back to 2007 and the Brazil post race investigation into the improper fuel temperatures of both the Williams and BMW Sauber teams. that could have resulted in their disqualification which would have promoted LH up the standings thereby giving him the title that year. the stewards chose not to do anything so Mclaren appealed. ultimately that was also dismissed by the FIA a few days later and ironically Ferrari and Kimi took the title that year. LH was gracious in losing this way by saying something along the lines of he wouldn't want to win that way. frankly no one should want to win this way imo. cant blame Ferrari for trying but winning in this case means them losing in my books. |

weird then because a couple of paragraphs earlier the writer states:
'On Wednesday evening, however, Ferrari said it was reviewing video footage allegedly showing Vettel overtaking Vergne in a yellow-flag sector between Turns 3 and 4 early in the race. The team stated on Thursday that it had written to the FIA asking for clarification over the matter.' |

The Sky Sports website is showing video footage of why Seb's move was legal. After the first yellow flag down the straight, but before the green flag in the distance, there is a waved green flag from the marshals post which is partially obscured by the telemetery graphic on screen.

http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/formula1/20540952 Perhaps they should have 20 odd stewards to watch on board with each driver through the race? With a lice feed of the pit to car and telemetry too?! |

Ferrari missed their chance at taking points away from Red Bull had they protested the Monaco GP. While a protest now would have definitely put a bad light on the FIA, asking for clarification on what happened is different.

It seems that Ferrari is trying to win through lawyers what they could not win on the racetrack. It will fail and it will diminish their stature.
Ferrari had an excellent driver in a so-so car.... close but not enough Luca. The appeal will not add to their results, the only thing it will add is the word "sore" to their title of losers. Vettel's pass was reviewed during the race, there was a green flag being waved and he won the championship....... End of story Congratulations Vettel!! Bring on 2013!! |
