Who Will Be the Best Rookie?
There will be four rookies on the grid this year, all in the Jordan and Minardi teams. They have a variety of experiences, including F3000 success for Friesacher, DTM and F3 for Albers (who struggled in F3000), and good World Series results for Karthikeyan and Montiero (who also did respectably in F3000 and CART).
But, which will be the most successful? And which has the most potential to succeed? One of the mods can add a poll to this if they like. |

Karthikeyan
He has more racing experience than the others. All four of them have some merit, and all in all it's a better crop than the likes of Bruni and Baumgartner. |

Theoretically Minardi has a better lineup than Jordan, and will have more support too, although Jordan's engine is much better and the chassis should be as well. I can see the two teams being evenly-matched. |

Friesacher, he was already faster than Albers at last weekends test in Imola.

I would go with it being Tiago, he has experience of Champ cars and has tested the Minardi recently. He's no slouch that one.
Off topic this I know but having been away for a while I confess to being mildly surprised that KB didn't break the million posts mark while I was gone How are you KB? Good to see you're still propping up the boards, if there's one thing I like it's consistency |

I'll side with F3lolli and say Montiero. I think this thread would definitely benefit from being a poll!

Karthikeyan and Friesacher.
Depends which has the best car as to which will perform best. |

I'm going to side with Albers on this one, just because he isn't coming fresh from a single seater series doesn't mean squat... he'll do the business, I guarentee it.

I think Monteiro. I've seen Albers slack of near the end of both his seasons in DTM, so I don't believe in him. Friesacher and Karthikeyan just have way to difficult to spell names, so they won't be in it for "good" results... (no really: I just don't know them well enough). I liked Monteiro's performance in Cart though.

My money is Friesacher I will go as far as saying he could be an Alonso/Webber in the making...but Karthikeyen will show some good speed too, like Sato...

Wont Liuzzi be a rookie this year, sharing his drive with Klein?
Yeah Klein got the drive at Melbourne, but they said they would be reviewing it on an on-going basis. Not much chance of getting rookie of the year honours seeing as he has to share his drives with Klein. Although..... he would only have to score points once or twice to beat the drivers in the Jordan's and Minardi's. |

Just curious but why was everyone so down on Bruni last year? Was the Hungarian that bad?

Yes, Elton.
Baumgartner was very bad indeed. Bruni should have absolutely cruicified him and didn't. The team were unhappy with the Italian's lazy attitude too - Baumgartner was a much harder worker, though he was much less talented. |

Poll added for those that want to vote.
Minardi looks to have the best line up which may help to push each other along. I will go with Albers due to his better overall CV and front running experience (albeit DTM), closely follwed by Friesacher. I think Karthikeyan may be similar to Sato in his first year, flashes of speed matched with unforced errors and a few trips into the scenery. |

My mental block towards Albers is his F3000 season - a disaster. I expect Friesacher to get the better of him.

The battle wud be between Friesacher and Karthikeyan...and IMO it wud be evenly poised...and wud be more interesting to see some battles at the end of the grid too

Friesacher, in my eyes the most talented of the lot.
I'm looking forward to him kicking Albers' arrogance a few tones down! |

Doe anyone want Luizzi added to the poll, or shall we stick to confirmed race seats?
