[LM24 Race] The 2023 Annual Le Mans Prediction Thread

Here we go for the Ten-Tenths predictions contest of the 24 Hours le Mans 2023, the centenary race.

This year the contest has more items due to many new cars :

• Hyperpole time (50 points)
• The car which signs the hyperpole time (20 points)
• The absolute top speed of all practice and qualifying sessions (30 points)
• Top speed car (10 points)
• Podium (120 points)
• Winner's number of laps (60 points)
• GTEAM winning car (40 points)

So you are cordially invited to record your answers to the following :

1. Hyperpole time to nearest thousandth and the car
e.g.
3:41.488 Toyota #8
If the track is declared wet during this entire Hyperpole session, we will consider the best lap of all other practice an qualifying sessions.

2. Top speed of practice and qualifying sessions (in kph) and the car
e.g.
309.5 kph Glickenhaus #708
(to the tenth, with km=0.621 mile)

3. Overall winner, second and third – car #'s and laps completed by the winner only
e.g.
1. Oreca #32 – 312 laps
2. Oreca #26
3. Toyota #7

4. GTEAM winning car
e.g. Porsche #80

Scoring :
Hyperpole pole time :
50 - (12.5 x |pole-prediction|), i.e if you are one second and 512 thousands from the pole, you get 31.1 points.
0 point if |pole-prediction|> 4 seconds
Car : 20 or 0 points

[UTop speed :[/U]
30 - (1.5 x |topSpeed-prediction|) , i.e if you are 10 kph from the top speed, you get 15 points.
0 point if |topSpeed-prediction|)>20kph
Car : 10 or 0 points

Podium : you can have points if you choose a car of the final podium in an other position

You can criticize this points system or give some suggestions but please after this year results are published.

Please respect some rules :

1. No surplus comments, no funnies, no additions – just your predictions. We will remove anything else that you add !

2. No amendments are permitted unless you can satisfy us that you made a genuine mistake or if one of the cars included in your prediction is withdrawn before race start.

3. Any queries about the competition to PascaLM or Aysedasi by PM please.

4. The competition will close at 9 pm (UK time) on Tuesday 6th June and the thread will be closed too.
