What next for Tony Cochrane?
He says himself that it has been a passion to break into the Sydney market.
Iif it is a success what is left for him? What new challenges does he have? If it is a failure what does he turn his hand to next? I can’t see him walking away straight away but depending on the results what are the possibilities? |

Go over to the SEL website...he has plenty of stuff to keep him busy if v8 supercars falls over like the doomsayers are predicting...

In the V8SA off season he could organise an Asia/Pacific series and rope in a few more manufacturers. That would keep him busy.

I've got quite a few ideas for him, and none of them involve motorsport.

Based on the V8extra performance;
1. A diet. 2. A course on the principles of pre-recording a television program. |

Would they collapse if subjected to competition from a start-up series with much cheaper but sufficiently fast V8 Falcon and Commodores, propped up by much cheaper family-friendly ticket prices, traditional permanent circuits and much better racing assisted by ballast, reverse grid sprints etc in the British style?

In the first race they raced for 10th place as the second race was reverse the top 10. If you start of with a cheap family car based formula when things start breaking the teams will ask for better components. Give it a few years and you will end up right back at V8Supercars. I will agree the BTCC is reasonable though but nowhere near our set up. |

What next for all the whingers and whiners of the v8s on here after Sydney???
Will we see them claim the event as a failure, will there be any moaning about the safety car or race director, will 7 be toasted again for poor coverage and lack of info during qualifying?? Last edited by St00ge; 29 Nov 2009 at 14:12. |

Cochrane might try to bring the Asian LMS to Australia (Phillip Island?) and the IndyCar back to Surfers Paradise (Adelaide?).

What they do to hurdle the championship leaders is to throw them (dunno how many) to the back of the sprint race's grid (dunno how many places). Since they don't have weight disadvantages, they can fight the whole day to pass slower drivers and finish in top positions. And they do that. |

They seem to say that the racing is pretty good over there, but they have the ticket price inflation too don't they? Punters not paying to prop up big budget teams via massive sanction fees passed onto ticket prices would be great. |

An interesting insight on on Tony's past and motivations in this long form interview (approx.40 mins) with Richard Fidler:
http://www.abc.net.au/local/stories/...?site=brisbane Don't know if it was a great ad for him, or the category. Does point out how far they have come since paying circuit owners to compete on their tracks |

No, that's the first publicity shots released of the V8 car of the future project after KRudd has signed off on the ETS scheme in Coppenhagen.
In 2015 a field of 32 cars will line up for the inaugral Bathurst 1000 Watts race. Or is big Tony telling Tim Schenken to jam the pace car up his erectum, as V8 Australia have found a replacement vehicle and driver. |

Tony has been told by Tim that the pace car is waiting for him to pass, and that it is sitting in a blind spot just past the pit exit.

By my calculations, if they hold the golf cart race in outer space, they should be able to reduce drag enough to reach speeds upwards of 400 kph.
TC can inflate the crowd count by noting the martians renowned invisibility cloaking technology....... |
