yes, the embargo was until the 22nd of Feb. French time
It is 12:44 AM right now in France. But yes, i agree that the list was discussed before the 12:00 AM time in France. My site did not post the list until the embargo was lifted (at 12:00 AM GMT +1 time) I remember we had a similar issue happen last year too (people/sites posting the list before the embargo was lifted) |

I'm most pleased to see that Lister will definitely be back at Le Mans this year.........
Can't work out why Chamberlain are down as LMP2. The car's been sold, maybe the entry was also sold as part of the package? Just a thought......... |

Surely this has got to be a ploy to get LMP1 teams to go to Sebring, although clearly some teams are simply not going to be ready.
Furthermore didn't Trevor Foster (Zytek) say that if the Herbert, Shimoda, Smith Zytek was not accepted in the first round of entries the car would not be built............................. Why the hell are Jota not there either - a class performance last year and a good LMES showing in what could be a fantastic car. WR instead of them, come on ACO WAKE UP. My predicted final LMP1 list is: 2 x Pesca 2 x Audi 2 x Zytek (hopefully!) 1 x Creation 1 x Lister 1 x Dome 1 x Lola 06 |

The biggest surprises for me are Chamberlain Lola in LMP1 and Rollcentre Radical in LMP2, as both teams have bought new regulation cars, showing a long term commitment. If they don't get in with new cars, but lots of Hybrids do, then the ACO will look stoopid.

I think it is a sensible decision for the ACO not to grant entries to cars that have yet to be raced or even built yet. If they'd invited the Audis, then we'd have cause for complaints, but leaving the majority of LMP1 slots open until after teams have a chance to showcase themselves at Sebring is fair enough.
BTW, can someone remind me if there are a certain number of guarenteed entries for Sebring class winners? |

The Saleen is Acemco, RML is the Lola. Don’t know if Ebimotors made application for Le Mans, think their focus is on FIA GT. But instead of Ebimotors, Autoorlando also isn’t on the list |

A one class series would resemble F1! Can't wait for an extended grid in future years - the calibre of entries and possible entries over the next decade (hopefully with more manufacturers coming back) certainly would make good grids. |

I wouldn't get too exercised about who's in or out just yet; there's a long way to go till June. And can anyone imagine, say, ORECA being left out of the final list? More to come, fellows, more to come.

Interesting part in the announcement:
"Daniel Poissenot, the A.C.O Sports Manager and Le Mans 24 Hours Clerk of the Course, said just how satisfied Mr. Jean-Claude Plassart, the President of l’Automobile Club de l’Ouest and the Selection Committee are concerning the quality of the entries received. “While the number of entries is very similar to last year, we see that the technical level has risen again and that there has been a comforting increase in the GT1 category,” he said. In addition, to the variety already seen in LM P1 and LM P2, the Grand Touring category has gained both in diversity and numbers with the arrival of a Lamborghini Murcielago in LM GT1 and the Ferrari 430 in LM GT2." They forget to mention the loss of the Ferrari 575, the TVR and the Ferrari 360.. |

In some ways it is easier to finalise the GTs at this stage as we are not waiting for new cars. The quality is more easily assured. I agree that it would be foolish to grant entries to cars that haven't competed yet. |

The problem is, Chamberlain Lola, Rollcentre Radical and New Courage's won't run until Istanbull LMS, as thats the series they are entered in, and the final list comes out before that, straight after sebring. Same as last year, the list came out and then Zytek went and won an ACO sanctioned event ( spa ), but weren't invited to the Biggest one. These cars are built to their new rules, why let in older, outdated machinery at their expense ? This is my opinion, but i understand what you say about letting in unraced cars. However, in future, maybe they should wait until after the first round of each championship ( europe, usa, even japan if its early enough ) before giving the final list. But then people would moan about securing budgets etc earlier in the year. Oh well....
