If AMR have a new chassis, not just a revised Lola, they must also have plans for a new engine. AMR aren't going to build a new chassis for a single season.

Can they run a 2011 engine next year? I can't remember.

If so it would be a good idea to start development now and get a good years head start on it.

3 Aston Martins will be going to Nurburgring next week to face the lone Pescarolo with Oreca absent.

AMR need to work on their racing if they are to win, judging by the last round!

Yes, interesting that it seems 2 factory entries are not enough to beat the lone Pescarolo...

Not sure if it's just more numbers, easier to beat Pescarolo. The Planet Le Mans article mentions something interesting which is the 3rd car being able to push the Pescarolo down to at least 4th if everything goes well, thus helping Aston Martin's LMS title hopes.

Precisely- if you're fielding a 3rd car, it's not just about increasing your chances of beating your rival, but increasing the number of points you can take away from them by beating them

Maybe they will exit on a high note, LMS Champion. Retire/sell all the P-1s and bring the Vantage GT-2 program in house to produce sellable (profit) GT cars again.

Charouz is selling the car, I don't know what AMR will do next year.
But wouldn't it be a good idea to produce a GT2 version of the V12 Vantage They already used the V12 Vantage at the 24H Nurburgring race this year.

The V12 engine proved itself in GT1 & LMP1 and we all know that the weak point of the V8 Vantage GT2 is it's engine. So using the V12 would be a good idea!

... at least with 1.2 million euros in the pockets going shopping you have the choice to buy a second hand LMP1 AM or a brand new LMP2 Porsche RS Spyder.

... or maybe Charouz is aiming to win 24H of Le Mans too so he needs to buy a new all over winning car for next year... like an Audi or Peugeot.

Wouldn't mind seeing Round 2 of the Vette-AM battle with the added twist of having Ferraris, Porsches, BMWs and the lone ranger Spyker in the middle.

A Gulf Aston Martin Vantage?

It is just the 2008 car that's being sold, have to see what. Happens to the 2009 cars. Would be great to see more effort go into the vantage

Toni Charouz almost always offers his cars for sale - It doesn't necessarily mean that he expects to sell them!

Prodrive is a buisness and either expands or fails.

A large part of its revenue came from the SRT team and it needs to fill that hole. LMP and GT2 cars will help, but Richards is never one to put all his eggs into one basket.

I doubt its ever 'either' 'or' with prodrive more yes if you can afford it.

I believe that it is an apples and oranges comparison though. The Rally effort is as a contractor to the mfg., (in the past Subaru) where Prodrive is paid for their services. The AMR relationship, is as a partner with Aston. Which are quite different scenarios from one another.

Hmm, well from the sound of that it would seem they plan on building a 3.4L V-8. As of now there does not seem to be any allowance in P-1 for a GT homologated engine, only race engines, Diesel 3.7L (8 cyl.), N/A Petrol 3.4L (8 cyl.) and Turbo Petrol @ 2.0L (up to 6 cyl.)
