Gibson won Superfinal in a very depleated field. George and DC succumbed to mechanical woes again

Yeah despite Coynes best efforts to spin Ben out in the A final, Ben didnt start the Superfinal, it had to be red flagged as Tierneys Tigra was put into the bank on rallycross3, Jobb broke a shaft off the line and then when the redflag came out he went back to the paddock to do some repairs, then was told he couldn't restart the race. Lots of cars damaged today.

Sorting out fotos at the moment, will post a few up later

Not a bad day today I have to say. Although there was a lack of Supercar entries as usual and then 4 dropping out, it did bring some great battles on the track. I now have a new respect for the Ford Ka, after Ben Power brought his home ahead of Michael Coyne, well done to him, and Derek Tohill got beaten as well, which means there is now a bit more of a competition in the Irish Championships!!

What was also really good to see, which I hope gets better over the course of the season, was the battle in the Modified classes between the Escorts and the Novas, which today I think was won just by the Escorts, but could have been sooo different!!

You can find some links below to some pics of the action from today, some are alright, some of my pics are unfortunately pretty rubbish, but you can have a look for yourselves.

Enjoy,

In fairness, it looked like Coyne backed right out of it after he made contact with the Ka, just after the pics were taken. I think thats how the leader made his initial break..........

Nice try rxie but not going there

Did some one say some thing about not being able to be as fast as the Mod cars?

The mods did very well against the " Supercars CARS " yesterday

Supermods were good, but only got in due to there only being one supercar out of five left at the end of the day,the racing was excellent.

Hi all , i would like to say thanks to motormouth as he is right. photo is only snapshot. picture does not tell full story. thats for another time though. In fairness ben drove well and adapted to the mods but unfortunately certain parts of the track he wasnt aware of how close i was. Due to my experience i backed off on a few occasions. before photo i was on grass to avoid him. peesport if i wanted to spin him i would but not my style. ben drove a great race and did all day looking forward to a rematch on the 4th march. PS: Ben you need bigger door mirrors.

Yeah, thoroughly agree with BOY BLUNDER, brilliant race by both of you, I have to say that it is always good to watch you and your Nova, but I was just thrilled that there was a good bit of competition for you this time around.

I did think on a few occasions that you were going to fly past him, but didn't, and it made for a cracking race.

Hopefully this will be a great battle throughout the whole season, but for now, well done to both you and Ben.

Hello everyone, i would just like to thank people for their comments, i had a great days racing especially in the final! Also i would like to thank mike for the great race, and don't think the bit of contact was attempt to take me off at all, (just a racing incident).
