Ive never heard of this series before.
Where can I find details on the race at thruxton, and how much is it to get in (to watch)? |

It's run by the European Endurance Racing Club, see www.eerc.co.uk for more details. There's an expected entry list on the site. Thruxton's website (www.barc.net) says £8 in advance or £10 on the day.
James Tucker (series organiser) is a fairly regular visitor here, I'm sure he'll chip in with more details shortly. |

Basic details, multi class races ranging from 1-1/2 hours upwards. It's an arrive and drive series of races, basically anything that is not a single seater or sports prototype is welcome to race so expect to see a Fiesta up against a Marcos or Darrian.
Interesting races. |

Welcome to the world of Britcar, Simon. Look for the other Britcar posts on this forum, and you will find the entry list for Thruxton, and get a flavour of the varied range of eligible cars.
If you know motor sport, you will recognise some familiar names, ex-champions from many series, plus some current high-flyers who take time out from their "day-job". But it's not just them that provide the entertainment. There are a myriad unsung heroes in Britcar, some spectacular talents who are rapidly gaining recognition. Regarding future dates, Britcar will race on into the winter, with races at Brands Hatch on November 1/2 and November 22/23. The Donington race on Nov. 22 has been cancelled, and James is seeking to replace it with a race on October 18th, which could run into the evening. Check the EERC website for updates on fixtures and timing. Simon, if you go to Thruxton, find me in the paddock, and I'll talk you through the series. Thanks to Redshoes and my orange-suited friend Jason for providing the info above. |

The EERC website now confirms Donington 18/10/03 is a NIGHT RACE, with qualifying Friday evening.

Should be, though I expect it'll be a race into the dusk rather than a true "night" race.
Looking forward to it. |

Digging out the passport, think I may well head to Thruxton for the next Britcar. Having never been there anyone give us a clue on ticket prices and best places to watch from, i know lot of circuit cant be got to. Oh and anything else one should know, I assume like snet (being airfield) weather can be harsh!
