NSW State Championship
Round 1 of the NSW state Championship will be held at Wakefield this weekend (12/03/05 - 13/03/05)
I ran an MX5 in the Production sports cars class for the past 2 seasons, anyone here follow or are actually running in this series? Jacky |

Hello Jacky, welcome to the forum. I follow the NSW State Championships on the internet. Some of the members here are regular competitors.
Good luck to Mt Panormama and TCR-028 who are both driving RX-7 Mazdas this weekend in the Improved Production Touring Car races. |

yeah i follow on a regular basis on the internet and on inside speed/ speedweek when it is shown. The racing is good and a lot of variety of catergories instead of just one type like tin tops etc. It looks like a good season for all this year

Hi Jacky,
I got to co drive Brian Ferrabee's 2B MX5 at the '03 Eastern Ck 1 hour (as well as some Qld races) & ran at the last round of '04 at Phillip Is in a 2F MX5 - what a difference between the classes going through the corners!! The 2F was fun, but you have to pry me out of the 2B everytime I it in it!! Which car have you got? |

Thanks David, great to see others following the state championship.
Sultan, Brian's MX5 is a beast, must be one of the quickest in the country. I ran the Enkei Wheel sponsored silver MX5 in NSW, never did run in the 1 hour races though because of my budget. Jacky |

Boppa, this thread got moved from the Aussie Touring Car forum to the Racer's forum, because one of the mods thought it was purely for NSW SC competitors to discuss their series. I then requested it be moved to the National & Club forum, because this thread is for both competitors and fans. It didn't fit in the original forum, because the discussion was as much about Sports cars as Touring cars.

[QUOTE=TCR-028]. Was a great weekend of racing, our boys did ok after a few dramas and Shane (Mt Panorama) did pretty well after a long lay off... [QUOTE]
It was a pretty good weekend for me. After having fuel injection problems all day friday, they were finally sorted enough for me to do a few qualifying laps which saw me last of a 33 car field. The car was going much better for the first race where i managed to get up to 23rd spot without too much trouble after 4 of 8 laps when the red flag came out. race 2 was a little more adventurous with me getting past 4 cars in the first half a lap. I then outbraked a commodore down the inside into the double apex left hander(fish hook), which was ok until he turned across the front of my car. This ended up with him going sideways across the front of my car, and as i went around the back of him he managed to roll back and hit my 1/4 panel. I lost a couple of spots then, and managed to get them back and finished 17th. I decided not to do the last race as i couldn't have been bothered to fix the damamge for 6 laps. |
