Streaming is planned for next year when the series starts proper and a full TV package could be tied into Le Mans.

Streaming has to be the way forward IMO. It's all well and good criticising the series for not getting full-length races on TV but the events are significantly longer than anything the GT1 championship has.

Very difficult to find a channel to put 6/10/12 or so hours out on the air. Let's see what they come up with.

People forget this years 'series' was only put together at the last minute, so late Peugeot weren't going to enter nevermind privateers who had already fixed their budget.

Le Mans being part of the 2011 series is key to TV and media coverage for the whole season and shows how commited the ACO are.

Will this be broadcasted in Europe?? If not then I'm sure there'll be a feed on the internet as was the case last year 4 me! Mind you I think it was the 2nd race last year that Eurosport...broadcasted!

Slight update to the entry yesterday. Second Jaguar removed officially, and Jaime Melo will be joining Vilander and Bruni at AF Corse.

MotorsTV are showing full race coverage (delayed?) for Zhuhai. Hopefully, fingers crossed, maybe a stream somewhere, at the usual places.

The race starts at 12pm local time and supposed to end before 6pm, just before the sun sets.

Exactly. I wouldn't expect a 5 or 7-round endurance championship to be broadcasted full in television. Endurance races aren't thought to be watched, manufacturers want to get to the headlines on Monday. Web streaming is the way.

I couldn't agree more Simmi.

Google TV is out, Boxee Box is next, Apple TV is out. The future is streaming, one wire into our house, that's it. Dishes will still be out there but in less than a decade, your standard cable will disappear in favor of fiber-optical cable.

Unfortunately too many people especially those over 50-60 have legacy hardware, meaning set-top cable boxes, sat dish box all with terribly slow and bad User Interfaces.

There is no European equivalent for Google TV yet (2011), but I strongly encourage those that can afford it, wait until the first price drop, but get Google TV, Sony Blu-Ray player with Google TV, Sony Google TV or any device that puts a browser on your TV with your high speed connection.

If the ALMS starts streaming the longer events, keep your laptop on your lap. Google TV is controlled by a trackpad and keyboard, Sony has interesting remote that's easy to use as well.

Just do it, don't complain.

If the race starts in China at 12:00, what time would it be in the eastern US? I've been trying to figure it out, but I'm having a hard time trying to pin down the time difference. Is the US eastern time zone (IE, Ohio) 12 or 13 hours behind Zhuhai (China uses the same time zone thoughout the country)?

What version of Windows do you run? if you have Vista or Seven, you can set additional clocks, which is really a good feature.

Just Click on the Clock on the bottom right of your screen, then select "Change Date and Time" (or something like that my system speaks German... ) and then select the "Additional clocks" register card. Now you can set a clock for Beijing that will be displayed when you hoover with your mouse over your regular clock.

China is GMT+8. Yes, the time zone throughout the whole country is the same.

It has been raining at the circuit since about 3pm. No one is running anymore. Not great rain, just a light drizzle.

KK Motorsport's Audi has been running but without a transponder, so no lap time recorded. I suspect some other cars are as well. It is actually scrutineering day today, but they can run and test when they are not being scrutineered, therefore all the timings are unofficial.
